Problems

Finished my return, error check found a problem with depreciation in an area that I never entered anything previously. Could find no help at all with what to do about it...... finally guessed. Thought TT had chat help, but couldn't find any. First time disappointed with TT...... bummer!
What's great about it: Carry-forward from last year, guided step-by-step
What's not so great: Error check found error, but no help provided

In preparing the tax forms for a deceased person, turbo tax acknowledges that the person is deceased and then proceeds to question as if the person is alive. What is extremely insensitive are the sections where Turbo Tax tries to sell the deceased person on future products.

The step-by-step process makes it easier to organize and categorize each possible deduction, but there are so many! If they don't apply to you it can get tedious. Overall though, very straight forward!
What's great about it: User Friendly
What's not so great: Lots of options for filing, few applied to me

Foriegn Income Filing

Doing daughter's filing (lives permanently in France but retains US citizenship) was straightforward EXCEPT for inability to enter a "none" or have a remarks section to show that spouse is a French citizen and doesn't have a SSN
What's not so great: Spouse does not have SSN; allow text "none" or "french citizen"

Great Product , I love using it. Glad you know how to calculate the returns because I didn't. I also like W2 quick entry.

I could not work through the 23 pages of return if I had to do it myself. I'd be pulling my hair out.
What's great about it: checks math and fills out the dreadful forms
What's not so great: I can't seem to figure out the source for some lines that must come from a different form.
