THe only thing I did not like is how many questions where asked that did not pertain to me personally. However I know these are necessary as everyone else could have use for these. overall I think turbotax is awesome and keep up the good work!
What's great about it: clarity
What's not so great: too many questions
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
Using Turbo Tax to file a late return was easy to do. Thankfully it checks for updates to make sure that you have all the updated forms needed for filing for that year. I was able to make decductions I was not aware of which is greatly appreciated. Very useful product. Better for me its easy to use when I am working overseas and able to file electronically.
Thanks Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Auto check, links to information to explain errors and everything else.
What's not so great: Deciding which version best suits your needs, could be more easily explained
Pros: I had a baby, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments
First off, we feel forced to use an on-line service to e-file. So we did, but something must have been wrong on our tax return because it was rejected (3 times). We even called IRS who told us exactly what to type in and it still didn't work. "If" we ever get this accepted, we are still going to be very late and charged penalties!
What's great about it: supposed to be easier to use
What's not so great: can't navigate on your own without going through the steps
I loved the actual figuring of the taxes, it categorized everything and reminded me of things I might have forgotten. When it came time to submit the form, there were way too many screens trying to get me to buy another product. Then , when I thought I had submitted everything, it turned out that I didn't. It was way too confusing at the end to actually submit. There should be one button: "Okay, Submit". Then if you want to add a state return, add it after the federal one is DONE.
What's great about it: Easy to use, made the return and calculations ridiculously easy
What's not so great: I had no idea that my return had not been filed.
Overall, you make a terrible experience possible and at times fun. Have been using Turbo Tax for over 25 years and do not see ending the use in this lifetime. Even my heirs will have to use it to do my final filing with Turbotax.
