Good and Basic

Turbo Tax handles all basic returns gracefully. It has the capacity for handling a little more complexity, but it requires knowledge on the part of the user. For example, I found the questions associated with line 29 of the 1040 misleading, and an improper response could be expensive.
With some effort, Turbo Tax could improve it's handling of more complex situations, and pick up a large share of returns.
What's great about it: Does a good job of a basic tax return. With some applied knowledge, can handle more complex returns
What's not so great: Slightly more complex situations require personal knowledge in order to complete,

I have been using TT since 1995 and know my way around pretty well. It would be nice to have the option to open TT in forms and not always step-by-step.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Only opens in step-by-step

After submitting my return it was rejected but I understood why and help was available. Great product for dummies like me. :)
What's great about it: Took me step by step through the whole process and questioned me when I wasn't sure if I answered correctly.
What's not so great: Tough to come up with any.

If I do not use the same computer as last year, I do not get the previous years' information transferred. It then does not "walk me through" some items, such as property depreciation, previous pins, etc.
What's great about it: Walking through the catagories.
What's not so great: Cannot retreive information from previous years!

First timers, Turbo Tax asks you all the questions. Warning: read the remarks carefully.
Somethings the taxpayer won't know and unfortunately Turbo Tax doesn't explain. Example: Adjust to 1099 Int ... Interest .

Inability to file by E-mail program would not allow E-file. Required to file by mail.
In past years this was a simple procedure. It obviously needs
improvement before next year.

User Interface changes

None of the user interface changes have improved anything. However you changes cause us existing customers to have stress and re-learn using the program unecessarily.
What's great about it: Ability to access forms etc directly rather than do taxes by prompt.
What's not so great: User interface changes from previous viersions have been counterproductive.
