Great Software that is easy to use and with the popup help screens it explained things quickly
What's great about it: Easy, understandable & good help screens
What's not so great: It seems it was asking for info already provided earlier

I HAVE USED TURBO TAX SINCE 1998 AND RECEIVED MAXIMUM REFUNDS AFTER ANSWERING ALL OF THE QUESTIONS HONESTLY AND CORRECTLY. I HAVE RECOMMENDED TURBO TAX TO MANY PEOPLE OVER THE LAST 17 YEARS. I WOULDN'T EVER USE ANYTHING ELSE TO PREPARE MY TAXES.
What's great about it: UNCOMPLICATED QUESTIONS TO ANSWER
What's not so great: NONE
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

An early tax modeling version could be valuable.
Since I am retired and have a variable income involving Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) and IRA ==> Roth conversion opportunities at year's end, it would be advantageous to complete a preliminary return and model several different year end scenarios by December.
What's great about it: straightforward and direct.
What's not so great: start earlier with preliminary (estimated) model, Direct download from financial institutions makes me nervous.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

This is my seventh year using TurboTax and am completely satisfied.
What's great about it: Walks you through everything. Provides definitions for terms I don't understand.

Quick and easy

Turbo Tax has improved every year I have used the program, which has been for years. The only chore in completing my taxes is the accumulation of all of the required information, not Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Step by step is the easiest way to complete our taxes
What's not so great: None that I can think of right now

I am a retired accountant and have used several tax prep programs since then. Turbo Tax is closer to the professional software I am used to using from an ease of use and a logical flow of data standpoint. It also allows me to go in and enter only the information pertinent to my situation and does not require me to go through every screen.

When I selected e-filing the system reported that there were more software changes that I needed to update. I had only just done this before processing my return, but went back and repeated the download and update. The same message came back, making it necessary for me to print my return and to expect a slower refund.
What's great about it: wording of questions is very clear.
What's not so great: Unable to e-file
