Everything works just fine. Too many adds for extras. State tax option is just way too expensive for as easy as PA state taxes are. This should be a free option so I don't use something else cheaper next year
What's great about it: Quick and Fast
What's not so great: Hard to see the value of paying for the the higher versions
very frustrating program - repeatability said information was incorrect, had to use the back button several times & re enter the exact same information several times to get program to take information. when finished it kept saying information in box 10 should be less than $1 to electronically file, it was $0.00 finally we removed $0.00 & left it blank (your program entered $0.00 by default) to get it to file. after waiting on hold for over an hour got frustrated & hung up & figured it out on our own What a JOKE this program is
For the eigth year running my IRS filing has been realitively pain free. Before Turbo Tax my preperations were torture for the whole family. Now its just entering the asked for info and cruise along the waterway of taxdom.
What's great about it: Ease of navigation, explicit instructions, quick software
Started a K-1 entry and ended up having to go back and wanted to uncheck some boxes that I had checked as to having entries. It would not let me uncheck boxes so I had to delete the entire K-1 Entry and then start all over. Frustrating.
What's great about it: quick and easy
What's not so great: Not always able to back up when entering information
Last year I used Deluxe. This year decided to use Basic again which I had used in past. Just need assurance that I'm using the correct version for our situation -- both retired now.
What's great about it: making it easy to complete
What's not so great: any shortcuts appreciated
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
I've used TurboTax for years and have generally had a good experience with it. For some reason, however, this year was an exception. I had multiple problems with the software (installed on an Apple desk top). Most of the problems centered around the updates. When I finally worked through everything and double/triple checked the numbers (because I wasn't fully trusting the software at this point) and tried to file electronically, it would not let me because I did not have "the latest updates". I went back and updated 3 different times and it still wouldn't let me file electronically. So here I go to the post office to mail it. VERY FRUSTRATING!!! Part of the software fee is for the ability to electronically file, which is worthless now for me.
What's great about it: Good program for working through income and deductions
