Please go back about three years in the user experience. It was MUCH cleaner and easier. In the past, it was easy to go back and find a place that I wanted to revisit. This year, it seemed that I could only get to the main topic, then I had to go through the whole interview again, rather than getting to the right spot directly from the 1040 form, if I knew which line I wanted to revisit. Clunky, clunky! And too time consuming. For instance, I had never had to visit Capital Gains and the selling of stock before. This year, I did. It was really tough to get back to the interview questions that I questioned my answers to. Wasted time equates to a disgruntled user, who might even consider switching to H&R Block next year....
What's great about it: I always love the interview
What's not so great: I did not like the navigation this year. It was clunky. See review.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I've used TurboTax basic since 2005. It really is flawless and makes doing taxes a breeze. Especially like comparing against previous year since most things carry over, which makes spotting errors easy.

I totally recommend TurboTax as it is easy to use and follow and allows you to go back and edit every section as needed. Used it for the last 10 years or better.

The only way I can do my taxes

Excellent experience to an unpleasant and confusing process. Would dread having to do my taxes manually with pencil and calculator. Love the autodownload of info from financial institutions, and wish this could be done with military and retired pay. Hope that when I retire next year, the process for entering IRA and retirement distributions will be as easy. Next year will probably try the online version since I am moving away from CD/DVD drives on computers; hope it's a painless experience. I do almost all my computing on Linux (Ubuntu/Linux Mint), and only use Windows now for TurboTax and one other program. I'm hopeing to see a Linux capable version of TurboTax in the future.
What's great about it: E-filing included, auto fill fields with info from prior years, complete array of questions.
What's not so great: No Linux version. I am moving away from Windows and would love an Ubuntu/Linux Mint version.

Feels like a load is lifted!

I was friggin nervous filing for the first time, but they really guide you along at your own pace. Everything is gone over so you don't miss a step or document. I gladly rate it five stars.
