Some snags, good help by phone

Turbo tax worked smoothly for me this year, especially the importing feature. At the end TT said that 5 of the forms I needed weren't ready yet. Untrue. These were very common forms. Why did it say that? Anyway, I found the TT phone no. for help on line, and got a callback immediately. The gentleman who helped me was very patient and solved my problem quickly.
What's great about it: Importing of info worked great; excellent help by a person via phone
What's not so great: Ran into a snag when Turbo tax said 5 of the forms I needed weren't ready yet.

Turbo Tax 2013

Turbo Tax is a great program for simple tax returns. It might be great for other returns but I cannot vouch for that as I don't have that many categories to go through. It took a little longer time than I had planned on but it did the job if the IRS received it.
What's great about it: An excelent program for light taxes
What's not so great: Some parts could be left out for my personal taxes

Will use something else next year

I found Turbo Tax more difficult to navigate and use this year than in years past. In addition the software filed my return without including my account numbers which I had entered and the IRS did not receive my payment. Now I have to fill out a form wait for a pin number, then make a payment. It will take me longer than it did to do my taxes. Next year I will try someone else or maybe mail in the return and a check.
What's great about it: Didn't find any
What's not so great: software is very slow to open, update etc.

Very comfortable with Turbo Tax

I have used Turbo Tax from the beginning and it is by far the best program on the market. The price is right and once you start it gets easier each year as it fills in from the previous years return. Can't say enough on how pleased I am with it.
What's great about it: It walks me through everything and allows me to come back when I want
What's not so great: Can't always find an answer to a question.

I'd never done taxes before, so naturally I was dreading the process. I was relieved to see how simple and upfront it is. If only Turbotax had a FAFSA version!

The beginning used to give both spouses names, now I have to hunt to find my husband to insert info.
