Cracked dryer drum after 3.5 years

We purchased this dryer with matching washing machine almost 4 years ago. It recently started making a thumping noise and after inspection we discovered there is a crack in the drum right on the seam. After reading online we discovered this is a problem with LG dryers for tons of people. We have loved the dryer and all the features thus far, but after paying 900 it should last more than 4 years.... also a replacement drum is impossible to find! Very disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
