Love at first sight

Looks like divorce already! Purchased the first one and the rubber gasket was all messed up. It was pulled out from the metal. Took it back and exchanged for a different one. Everything was satisfactory out of the box and used it for the first time today. It was taking an awful long time so I got the manual out to see if I could put it in the oven to continue baking. I know the stoneware should be oven proof and but was concerned about the lid and the plastic parts. No where did it say not to use lid in oven. It also said food could be baked in oven and transferred to the tray and take along . I have some items that have plastic parts and they are fine in the oven. 300 degrees was too hot it seems as the handle and the latching parts melted. Crock now has a hair line crack also. so disappointed!
Pros: love the looks and the size
Cons: manual not complete /made in china/, lost faith in the crock pot company

I don’t know what this can make well!

I’ve had this for ages, and I agree it’s a great concept but I don’t know what it or any crock pot can make that’s unattended for more than 4 hours and not dried out or mushy if pasta. I’m looking for freedom with this, not having to come back in an hour to do something to it. The lasagna comes out pasty, chicken breasts or pork chops are dried out and over cooked, or tough if put in for less time. How can pizza be made? Come back in an hour, add topping, come back again, how is it not soggy? I’m seriously thinking of selling mine on Craig’s come holiday time. It’s big and takes up too much storage space!

after buying 3 of these (the first 2 lids didnt seal) now i see the porcelan is cracked. What a piece of junk.

like the versatility

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] like being able to bake in the oven and then keep warm or reheat in container...an finally put cornflake topping on cheesy potatoes. only downside is have to put a towel or something on the edges of casserole when carrying since hot from oven with the short handles you carry close to body.
