easy to fit & makes a differance

have recently swapped back to these filters after trying one from a different manufacturer. The other one worked fine, no leaks etc but I believe the water tastes better with this GE filter and I feel it it of a sturdier build quality.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Doesn't work as expected

The original filter that came in our refrigerator when we bought it worked very well. Water tasted good. Ordered a replacement filter and flushed 3 gallons of water out after installing new filter. Water tasted fine. After a few days the water had a plastic taste to it. Yuck! We stopped using it. After several weeks I called and the customer service sent out a one time free replacement which I really appreciated. I installed the new filter and did as before, flushing out 3 gallons of water. Water tasted good. Then after a few days water started tasting plasticky again. I decided to dispense out more water, and then the water tasted better. I have decided that if we don't use the filtered water very often, then it needs to have a few cups of water dispensed and then the water will taste better. Sounds crazy but that is what has happened. What I don't understand is that the original filter that came with the new refrigerator did not have this problem. Has anyone else experienced this?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent water filter

First time owning a GE appliance and I am very happy with my refrigerator and the water filter system. The water filters work great and are so easy to install!

My G. E. water filter does a terrific job of keeping my ice cubes nice and fresh tasting. It is easy to install and works well.
