Water tastes great!

This filter makes a noticeable difference in water quality. We have public water and this filter removes all of the chlorine smell and taste, so I'm sure it also removes much of the junk as well. It's now drinkable!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Instead of shipping really expensive wasteful parts why not do something really innovative and make the inside replaceable?

Throwing out this mini missiles is incredibly wasteful. I know the GE team can figure this out.....

Because water filters are super, super expensive I have bought non OEM replacement filters (at 80% less costly) but some gave nasty taste. This filter does not add any (bad) taste to the water. But again, the problem is the OUTRAGEOUS price(theft!) - just to put things in perspective, if one changes this filter every 6 months, he will end paying more for the filters in 10 yrs than what he paid for the brand new refrigerator! What printer manufacturers are doing selling ink cartridges at outrageous price is what refrigerator companies are with water filters. Just a rip off!

Don't really replace Gwf06 original filter

My frig. Came with the GWF06 filter or FMG1 which are nolonger available. This supposed to be the replacement. It will connect with some effort but has very slow water flow with air like noise. Put the FMG1 filter back. Quiet and normal water flow.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
