It's recommended to purchase this filter every 6 months. Some have reported to me that the water tastes better, although I can't tell the difference.

MWF Water Filter

Water filter has been a great addition to our home appliances. The tap water has a foul taste to it but when filtered thru the MWF Water Filter the foul taste is gone and my family is drinking more water know.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The original filter lasted 10 years and was still working properly. Replaced it just because I wanted to be sure it continued to work properly.
