Doesn't filter hard water

I don't know if this is the filter's problem or not, but soon after I purchased this item, our ice maker quit working. There is water leaking out the door and it's getting hard water stains all over the front of the fridge. So if this filters the ice maker, it's not filtering the hard water particles.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good filter as far as I can tell! I love that GE reminds me that is time for a new filter since my frig doesn't have indicator light.

Our condo came with the GE Refrigerator and I love the water purifier built in. Better yet, I don't have to remember to replace it anymore. We signed up for auto replacement and now it automatically arrives every six months. No more worries!

The days of drinking tap water are long over. We buy bottled water and refill them for a few days with the filtered water from our fridge. Our Keurig needs to use filtered water, so it's convenient for that as well. I've also recently used the filtered water for our dog and cat. You can never be too safe!
