Disappointment

I owned a 27 year old contractor grade GE gas range with no issues, I was just ready to update and have a convection oven and a storage or warming drawer instead of the dead space provided by GE in my original unit.
I am not pleased that the grate sits so high that I now must double the flame to get the same cook result as my original GE unit. I have also had a burner fail in the 7 weeks that I have owned my new range with *very* light use. The front controls also stick out more than I would like. I wish that I would have purchased a Bosch range.
Additionally I have had a very frustrating time scheduling a service call with the 800.GE.CARES number. The system does not work well.

Best bang for the buck

We liked our first one purchased in October 2014 so much we bought another for a rental property. The front display is easy to see as well as the settings. Having the 5 burners was a big bonus and comes in handy around the holidays with large family gatherings. The oven heats up so much faster than our older one and the convection feature cooks everything evenly, especially when the lower racks are used. My only con is remembering to shut off a burner if left on its lowest setting - as it can be difficult to see the flame. My wife says this has been the easiest stove to clean ever... I'll agree, and mention there are really no crevasses for muck to hide.

Great product but could use some improvements

After having this stove for a few months, we've already had to repair it. The pull out drawer is very flimsy and doesn't hold much more than 2 or 3 cookie trays. In our last stove, a GE as well, the drawer was more sturdy and we could put in heavier duty trays. We also miss the griddle insert for the 5th burner that our prior version of the stove has.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent features!

The range is very sturdy and appears to be well made. The oven heats up quickly, the stove top has ample room for multiple pots and pans to cook a few things at once. The dials are easy to control and the flame intensity easily manipulated.

Two Problems with JGS750SEFSS

The problems include the left rear burner ignitor does not work, I can light that burner with a match. The second problem is the bottom storage drawer left side guide has lost a bearing does not close straight. I also had to have the bulb in the over replaced.

Not easy to clean

I bought the stainless steel version of this appliance and regret it. Any spatter around the burners looks terrible and must be cleaned immediately or you risk a permanent stain. The first time I used the stove a grease spatter stained the stainless steel plate and it is still there, despite my best efforts to clean it off with various approved cleansers. Other than that the appliance works satisfactorily.

The appliances were chosen and installed when we bought our new home. I was happy to see that they were GE Profile, as I know they have a good reputation. Unfortunately, I'm not very happy with the surface on the stove. While heating some sauerkraut, a little of the juice splashed onto the surface. I tried wiping it off and it has permanently marred the surface. Nothing removes the spots. The stove is only three months old and the light in the oven is already not working. I'm very sad.
