These jars are great! My old one lasted over 5 years with heavy use. The jar never chipped or cracked though, worn out bearing instead. These jars hold up surprisingly well and don't take on stains or odors. The new jar is performing great so far. Very happy with Blendtec products!

I've been using these for over 10 years and blend about 4 times a week on average. The contents range from yogurt and fruit smoothies to heavier items like meat and vegetables. We only fill the jars to about 24 - 30 ounces and get absolutely perfect results every time with only a single blending cycle (50 seconds). However, they only last about 1-1/2 years before the seal fails and the blade doesn't turn easily. Always slightly past the 1 year warranty, of course! But as long as the blender keeps working I guess we'll keep buying the jars.

Great news! Our jars now have a 3-year warranty!
Here's some more tips to keep your jar running smoothly:
1. Spin the blade manually by the shaft on the bottom of the jar before each use to lubricate the blade shaft.
2. Don't use your jar as a storage container or let liquids sit in the jar overnight.
3. Wash your jar or use the Clean cycle immediately after each use.

Excellent Blender, Poor Bottom Gasket

I love this blender, but am put off by the poor life of the container given that after about 300 cycles the blade does not spin freely. I clean and maintain it regularly, so I feel cheated. I clean it even better than the manual suggests so this shouldn't be happening. I am the only user, so there is no way somebody could be tampering with it or abusing it without my knowledge. It would be great if this blender had a kit to change the gasket at the bottom. THIS WOULD SET THIS PROBLEM TO REST AND LOCK IT IN AS A '10'. I don't think the competition does this. Nudge! Nudge!

The rubber gasket at the bottom of the original jar began to disintegrate. I was disappointed, as I followed care directions and made sure to always keep that part of the jar dry. But all things wear out, so we decided to replace it. I am happy with the new jar so far, but I have to say the price shocked me. We almost didn't purchase it, but really like our Blendtec so wanted to keep using it. I can't say, however, that I'll purchase another jar if/when this one wears out. The new jar is nice, but I am giving three stars due to price and the fact that the old one wore out sooner than I thought it should.

I bought my Blendtec with the Wildside Jar on sale at Costco last year and, while I have loved the operation of the blender, sturdiness and ease of cleaning, the bigger jar wasn't designated for some of the recipes and smaller amounts I wanted to use. Since getting the Four Side jar, I find I use it all the time with all the recipes I want!

I've used Blendtec blenders for the past 10 years or so, and while I always liked the fourside jar, I was unhappy with both the container material and the bearings of the blade. This new container fixes both problems. The material is a clear and doesn't seem as vulnerable to etching as the original containers. The blade assembly and bearings are amazing -- quiet, sturdy, and apparently so well designed the jar comes with a 3-year warranty, or longer if you're buying it as part of a blender purchase. This is the last thing that might have kept me from recommending the Blendtec blender to everyone. I'm completely satisfied with the way it works and looks.
