New Dischwasher

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love our new dishwasher. It is much quieter then our previous dishwasher (another brand). It gets the everything clean and dries effectively. We would recommend this dishwasher to anyone considering buying a new one!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, the Bosch Ascenta has been everything the independent reviewers promised and more! I did due diligence when researching this purchase and only considered ratings based on independent, repeated test trials. The Bosch Ascenta was the one dishwasher that consistency rated at the top, even when tested against luxury dishwashers that cost 3 to 4 times as much.
It does a great job of cleaning. The last top-rated Whirlpool I bought could clean baked on foods, but not chocolate or avocado. The accents cleans it all, even my silverware. And my dishes don't have food redeposited on them after the wash.
I have never owned a dishwasher without a heating element. The Ascenta doesn't have one, but my dishes come out as dry or drier than any dishwasher I have owned. And it's quiet! My bedroom is just off of my kitchen and I could not start my dishwasher before bedtime without hearing the motor running, but I can start the Ascenta. It is virtually silent.

This dishwasher has a 30 min clean cycle and is quiet!! Dishes come out clean and sanitized.

Extremely disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dishwasher was recommended by Consumer Reports as a Recommended Best Buy, however that has not been my experience and I am very disappointed. I would not buy another Bosch based on this experience. Specific reasons for my unhappiness/dislike are as follows:
I was shocked to find out this dishwasher didn't come with a standard plug. Apparently, it is no longer standard and you have to buy it separately- but you won't know that until you get home and unpackage it, resulting in a second trip to the appliance store. There is also an extra piece you need to buy- fortunately, the salesperson warned me in advance so I bought it on my first trip. (Sorry, I can't recall what it was – I think it was some sort of small brass L-shaped item)
The upper and lower level dish storage racks are laid out poorly. I can tell the concept was designed to fit a variety of dish sizes/types, but the layout means that most medium/large dishes and serving platters either don't fit at all, or have to be angled in such a way that the dishwasher’s capacity is greatly reduced. I am fairly basic cook, so I don’t have fancy cookware or oddly shaped pans & dishes, so my frustration means I suspect many other people will find the layout and rack spacing to be problematic.
Even worse, the dishes and silverware don't come out completely clean, so I often run it more than once. To make matters worse, a full wash cycles take a LONG time-- their "Automatic" cycle is 2:30 hours.
The one good quality is that it is fairly quiet- not noiseless, but quieter than what I previously owned.
