life-changing
on May 4, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first time having a dishwasher and it is life-changing! We give our dishes a quick scrape and rinse then run a load each evening after dinner. Most of the time I use the quick cycle and it works great!
I would recommend this to a friend!

dirty dishes and greasy filter
on April 21, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 1) more dishes come out dirty from this dishwasher in one load than came out in 20 years from my prior dishwasher. Some come out dirtier than they went in. You will be doing some of your dishes over by hand, the majority of the time.
2) bug in the software, this dishwasher has run all night at times.
3) bad design, slime accumulates where the door meets the dishwasher body. Photo attached.
4) it uses tempid water, don't know why water is not hot, even if you've ensured hot water is running at the attached kitchen sink. Remarkably unhealthy.
5) bad rack design. Deep bowls and pans are a problem.
6) water doesn't drain completely. Smells _really_ bad in summer.

Tremendous disappointment!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I cannot for the life of me understand why this dishwasher ever received so many very favorable reviews. That greatly influenced our decision and we feel that we were misled. First of all, it cannot fit a 9 x 13 Pyrex dish. We use this often for cooking, baking and reheating, and not being able to wash in the dishwasher it is a problem. We have frequently referred to the loading directions and photos, which are of no help. It assumes that all you are washing is plates and cups/glasses and that is all that is pictured. We use a lot of plastic ware--sandwich boxes, leftovers, etc. This dishwasher was not made for that! We have to run this much more frequently than our old dishwasher, just because things don't fit right. If we had known this, we never would have bought this. Plus, the door won't stay closed correctly, so it stops the cycle. After you play with it a little it starts back up, but you end up having to do this several times through a load.

By hand-20 mins. With my Ascenta- 3hours
on March 13, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Ascenta because of its incredibly low db rating-- a 50-- and indeed it is the quietest dishwasher I have ever used.
Unfortunately, the latch has never worked correctly since I bought it last year. I did not understand that it was actually latching at all- I thought it was just a quiet latch, too. I push it shut and it will start, but then (not being latched fully- it never clicks shut)- as it starts to operate, the door must move away from the contact enough to stop the operation. If I am in the kitchen, I can keep on pushing it shut, but the whole point is to load it and walk away. I only recently looked into this and realize that there are a lot of unhappy purchasers of this product, because many of them have this defective latch.
I have written to Bosch, and am hoping to hear that they will replace the latch so that it clicks shut and can wash a load from start to finish.
Regarding the cleaning results of the few times that I have used it: My dishes were for the most part clean. I use a silicone spatula to clean dishes before loading, but I do not prewash them as I've seen people do. I was confused about the 'sanitizing' cycle. I thought that meant that the dishwasher would heat the wash water to a higher temperature. The Ascenta does not. If you have a dishwasher that does not state that it heats the water for the wash cycle, be sure to have your hot water tank set to a much higher temperature than you use for bathing, or your washer will not be able to melt grease. For example, a knife that was used to spread peanut butter- that you just clean off on the edge of the jar, and don't pre-wash before putting in the dishwasher-- will still have the peanut butter streaks on it, even though it's been sanitized.
If you want to save money on your hot water bill, spend a little more for a model with the water-heating feature, so all your hot water doesn't need to be set at 140 degrees. This is also a feature you'll need if you have an on-demand hot water heating system.

Mugs are dirty
on June 3, 2016
Posted by: Helpful Hubby
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am disappointed with this Bosch dishwasher. Mugs were washed twice using Finish detergent and Finish rinse aid in the Auto cycle on the top rack, but they came out dirty. The machine was installed correctly: properly leveled, drain hose routed through a counter mounted air gap, punch out in garbage disposal removed, hot water source the right temperature, etc. Why can't it clean? The mugs held some fruit smoothies that were made in a blender. How hard is that to clean?

Great choice
on October 7, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am not a fan of stainless steel, so it was nice to have the choice of various colors in this model. I got the model in white and it looks lovely with my dark cabinets and light counter tops. It works quietly and efficiently. I could even enjoy videos on the new IPAD I am going to win while using it!

Quiet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, so good. The panel choices are clear and easy to figure out. You won't have to read a manual to use this model, which is a relief. It is quiet enough to turn on even when you're having a conversation in the next room. And, as always, I'm relying on Bosch quality to keep it running for years to come.

Don't let this "average" review stop you

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have only used this twice and have not had anything hard/baked on, so far. It preformed just fine. The motor is quiet but when it empties it is very loud. It is hard to rate, at this time, as I am still learning how to load it. I cannot give a recommendation, yet. Maybe after I try to clean baked on scalloped potatoes. My old dishwasher cleaned that up. I LOVED my old dishwasher.. It died after 15 years. I am still in mourning. Hard to commit to another machine. :-) We chose this due to Consumer Reports recommendation.
