Poorly made, poor reliability

We bought this dryer 2 years ago when our 6 year old Whirlpool dryer died. We were very happy until the idler pulley failed 13 months after purchase. After replacing the pulley it ran well for 9 months until the heating coil burned out. When we went with Samsung we thought we were purchasing a quality product with good reliability. We really like the features and look of the unit but hate that I have to keep spending money on fixing it. After researching this I am finding that these are common problems with this particular model. It seems that companies are no longer using quality parts. Really disappointing!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought this Dryer 1 1/2yr. Ago and already not drying no warranty and now I have to pay someone to fix because Samsung builds a cheap product and gets you for hundreds of dollars. Will never own another one again or any Samsung Product

I’m sure there are other good Samsung products out there but this one I wouldn’t classify as a good investment. The belt no longer has traction and drum no longer spins. dryer motor still works. This looks to be a hard fix.

We bought this product just about 2 years ago on the dot and it already is done. The machine ran great and had no problems until this past week. It goes through the drying cycle fine but when it turns to the cooling mode, the heating element doesn't shut off. The unit gets so hot you can barley touch the outer shell. It continues to run like this until it is shut off manually by pressing the power button (fire hazzard). Got one error code about one week ago and it was HC which is incorrect heat or something. I am pretty handy so where the warranty was up after one year i wanted to fix it myself. We could barley find any information on this code and all everyone wanted to do was send a technician out.

I Love this dryer!!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the red front loader washer and dryer. Unfortunately it was to big for my laundry space. I had to select a top loader and i am glad i chose this dryer. It dries quietly and actually sings a tune when its done!!!!

stopped heating right outside of the warranty. ongoing issue with this model apparently, waste of money. it will break down after 16-18 months. i love samsung, just not this model.

the dryer broke in less than a year and then again 2 months after the warranty expired. i'm going to put this in the trash after owning it for 1 year and 2 months.
