Poor Ice maker design.

18 months in and the ice maker has been rendered useless. When it worked, it was slow at making ice (even for only 2 people in the home) however it now only freezes up and won't dump ice. Poor design and it's now out of warranty. Not too happy with this expensive refrigerator.
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quick tip: You can check the water line by dispensing water, in a measuring cup, for 10 seconds, if it's more than 6 ounces, then you can close the water line and tap it open slowly until getting 5.5 to 6 ounces dispensed in a 10second range

Ice Maker Trouble

Unfortunately the Samsung warranty is expired. Luckily we got a 5 yr extended through Lowe's. A third scheduled appointment for ice maker freezing and clogging. Two repairs - all they do is steam defrost it and say it is "unrepairable". This is so frustrating, Never enough ice, have to take work off to have a repair visit and still not working. I want a new refrigerator! It is beautiful but the ice maker causes a lot of problems - very poor design. DO NOT BUY THIS REFRIGERATOR - ICE MAKER NOTHING BUT TROUBLE!

We purchased our 4-door Flex in June 2016 and until 10 days ago, thought it was the best refrigerator we've ever owned. We noticed that the upper two compartments were no longer cool and thought maybe we had misadjusted the temp for them. But readjustment didn't help. So we called for repair under an extended warranty and threw out everything inside as they began to rot. Ten days after the refrigerator went bad we finally found someone certified to fix this unusual design. He diagnosed the problem as a coolant leak that had taken out three of the four compartments, and predicted the freezer would not last long. Although Samsung certified, he could not address the leak; four separate systems inter-relate in a sealed system. So now we have no one in the Portland, OR, area who knows how to handle this, and we will go into two weeks without a refrigerator before there's any chance of anyone being found to help. Meanwhile, the warranty company rep we spoke with said that he, too, had a Samsung that died, and because no one could be found to fix it, it was replaced.
I am extremely disappointed that our $3,000 machine died after just over two years of service. I'm equally disappointed to learn that the design is such that very few repair shops can handle it. It's not good that the warranty rep says his machine couldn't be repaired at all. It adds up to a big mistake to have purchased the refrigerator.

Ice maker is horrible

i've had nothing but problems with the ice maker since about month 6. ice gets stuck on the side and then jams. i know they say dont use a hair dryer to thaw, but what other option do we have.

Horrible Ice Maker
