Great TVs...Horrible Refrigerators

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] the overall fridge is just okay but paired with this ice maker it is not useable. it worked fine for the first few months until the ice maker started freezing over, which was fixed by chipping away the frost. now it will not even make ice even after defrosting and following all of the guides. if you do not want to use the fridge for ice then it will be an average product for you.

Ice maker is a major flaw

the icemaker is not well designed and cannot function as intended. the ice will freeze within the icemaker and prevent the mechanism from producing any ice. there is no easy fix for this and samsung is not supporting purchasers.

Ice Maker is a pain

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] purchased it almost 2 years and were very happy for the 1st year as the design and flex option worked perfect for our family. ice maker however has been a pain since last 1 year. either the ice maker freezes or just doesnt dispense any ice even though its full. every couple of days i empty the ice maker and it works for just a day. ice maker has now become a ice tray for me and we have to remove the ice from the tray every now and then. i wouldnt have complained had it not been an expensive model. expected a lot out of the flex model. disappointed, wish there was a permanent fix to the ice maker. i have heard of people getting it fixed only to start facing the same problems in few weeks after the fix.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Icemaker Component Failed in Under 3 years

the wife liked the looks and features the refrigerator provided. no concerns to mention until the icemaker stopped making ice cubes a few days ago.
compared to other refrigerators we owned, it looks like this refrigerator's icemaker component quality is of lesser quality since it failed to continue operating in under 3 years ownership and now require replacement. component failure at this point of this ref's ownership period was not expected.
did not experience performance issues from previous refs, made by other brands, this early. we kept those refs between 10-15 yrs.
i would have rated this refrigerator 1 star but since its nice looking, so i added the other star.

we bough this refrigerator in 2016 and seemed to work well for about a year and a half. all of the features are great the refrigerator looks good in our kitchen. one problem that we have started to have is that the icemaker will frost over and not produce ice. we have to go in there and remove the ice to get the ice maker to work again. this appears to be a common problem with samsung refrigerators and ours appears to be no exception.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this is a beautiful refrigerator, we purchased the matching set. we have had nothing but trouble with the ice maker since we bought it. i don't know why they have not recalled it with all the bad reviews, or at least offer a fix for it. once again i am going to have to unplug it to let the ice maker thaw enough to even pull out.

This refrigerator is a lemon

we bought this fridge in 2017. since then, we have had 3 service calls. the ice maker complaints are spot on. it was not a well engineered product. warm air enters through ice schute and melts the ice which then refreezes and locks up the ice maker, often causing components to break. service person said it is a known issue yet samsung refuses to stand behind it. we have also had to have a compressor replaced for the top part of the unit. i now think we may have the same issue with the bottom because the freezer, although set at -5, is not keeping vegetables and fruits frozen. i begged my husband for this fridge when we renovated our kitchen and have been eating crow ever since. a poor appliance that cost alot of money. so disappointed. samsung-you have let us down.
