The ice maker stopped working out of warranty and Samsung didn't want to fix it despite being a known manufacturing issue that resulted in a class action lawsuit. We replaced it with a newer model with a different kind of ice maker that had a similar issue out of warranty yet is not part of said lawsuit. Done with Samsung, they claim they make quality appliances but ours have been anything but.

We understand that the ice maker is one of the crucial parts of a refrigerator, CartmanUK22. We'll be glad to help!
A few factors can cause an ice maker not to work. If the ice maker is not making enough ice, low water pressure or a faulty water filter may be to blame. We recommend checking the links below for more details.

To keep your ice maker performing at its best, you'll want to ensure you keep up with preventative maintenance. I have provided a link below for reference.

Unless you FIRMLY close the left hand door. It remains open. Food gets warm. I’ve had this refrigerator for about two years, and I say: “I hate this refrigerator.” 3-5 times a week. I intentionally swing the door shut, and it does not close. I return, a bit later and it hadn’t latched. The need to FIRMLY shut it interrupts my cooking continually. I have gotten so messed up by this that I am now boycotting all Samsung products. Do they not do any usability testing? This shortcoming would easily indicate something about ALL Samsung products.
Oh, and the ice maker is the slowest EVER. But it ices up frequently, so I don’t know which is more irritating.

If the refrigerator or freezer doors do not close, it will impact cooling performance and eventually create frost. This guide will walk you through inspecting the gasket and roller bars and how you should store your food.

If your ice bucket is stuck and won't come out, don't try to force it too hard. A little gentle wiggle should be all you need to shake it loose. I have provided a link below for more information.

When you see a pool of water (or one that froze into a sheet of ice), it can often be attributed to condensation or a spill you didn't notice. The most common place to see the water is at the bottom of the compartment, below the vegetable or crisper drawers. Leaks can occur outside the refrigerator, or you can have an auto-fill water pitcher leaking. Depending on where the leak comes from, we will show you what steps to take to find the cause and keep it from happening again.

Our flex zone draw stopped showing the temperature and we are unable to select between options. Now it freezes the items that we have in the drawer and is ruining so many items. This happened right after we just had someone hear to fix the ice maker and it went out of warranty. We had so many issues. What a disappointment and a waste as we have had it for approximately 3-4 years I believe. For this amount of money it should last way longer.

Dirk, let's go ahead and have the refrigerator back on track.
Most cooling concerns can be resolved by adjusting refrigerator settings, proper use and care, inspecting and cleaning the door seals, or resetting the refrigerator. Please check the links below for tips.

We have had this refrigerator for several years and at first we really liked it. It is spacious, well designed, and the cooling works great. However, if I knew then what I know now, we wouldn't have purchased it. Starting about a year or so after we bought it, the ice maker would get clogged with ice and I would have to chip the ice out with a screwdriver to fix it. More recently, I have to use a hairdryer every 3-4 weeks to remove the ice, which is very annoying. Note that many other people have complained about this problem with the icemaker, both on the Samsung website and on other websites. If anyone has a solution for this problem, please let me know. I have searched but not found any solutions.

I loved the look, lighting and size of the fridge at first. Then within a year, the fridge started to leak on the floor. After that, the back condenser would ice, then melt into the drawers in the fridge. Soggy food had to be thrown out. Then the Fridge temp kept rising and all the food would spoil fast. Medicine had to be thrown out as well. Found out MANY people have same issue. Doing a temporary fix then looking for new fridge that is reliable.

Avoid this fridge

This came with the home I purchased fridge was <1 year old at the time, there are a lot of design flaws in this refrigerator. I would recommend you stay clear of this. The issues I've experienced are as follows: 1) The ice maker has never worked since I've moved in 2) The temperature sensor has a 7F degree offset 3) The Twin cooling freezes over, and constantly soaks the two drawers and bottom shelf melted water 4) After defrosting the fridge after a week it no longer gets down to temperature. It's set at 34F and only reaches, 48F on temperature sensor, 55F thermometer reading.
