I was very hesitant to by a Samsung fridge. Maybe it is just me and knowing the old Kenmore/Whirlpool/GE/Maytag brands that have been in the appliance business for a long time. However it seems that most of the appliances we saw at various box stores was Samsung, LG, GE. Did a lot of research and had found lots of good things about all and also a few problems with each. Since they were all pretty much comparable to each other in features and price it came down to overall styling. We went with the Samsung because the lines are more eye pleasing and the interior shelving seemed to be layed out slightly better. We have had this unit for 3 weeks. So far the screen for the ice/water/temp is tempremental. It dings every time you switch cubed to crushed ice or water which is fine. At times the touch screen stops working and you are stuck with what ever it is on. Good thing I was able to reach behind to the outlet to unplug it for 10 sec. If my outlet was located in a different spot would have been more ticked off. Multiple nights now I have heard the thing switching cubed /crushed ice or just dining and showing the temp in irratic spazums. Every couple seconds or 30 seconds or 10 minutes would go into a dinging friendsy. I have had enough and will be contacting customer service.... IF customer service can take care of this professionally, quickly and as painless as possible I would continue to recommend. Otherwise I will have to say to stay away.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: ice/water display with a mind of its own!

Size Excellent - Finish Poor

This is an excellent refrigerator with really good interior space. The shelves and space on the doors are well spaced and easy to access. It was NOT inexpensive and I expected top line for everything. My complaints are 1) doors are hard to close. They have to be pushed or you may leave one open by mistake. They are closed enough to prevent the "door open" alarm from ringing, but are not closed all they way; 2)The finish is so annoying. It shows every touch. I thought by now all stainless appliances were using the newer finishes that don't show every finger touch.
I have had the fridge less than a week and I hope to adapt to the door issue and figure out how to stop wiping the surface every time I use it.
Pros: Bright display, good interior arrangement
Cons: finish shows every finger touch, doors are hard to shut
I would recommend this to a friend!

Noisy fridge

Within months of getting this fridge we had loud noises at all hours of the day. We had several technicians come out to look at it and prescribed band aid solutions that did not address the problem, which I think is by design. I am disgusted since I bought all new kitchen appliances and a washer and dryer made by Samsung. I thought they were quality built... I guess I was wrong.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Poor quality, nosiy
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Samsung refrigerator is very elegant both exterior and interior, with a diverse ability to use the interior I'm multiple configurations utilizing space and making it an enjoyment to work with, the water and ice functions our excellent and easy ro use. the Lower freezer allows easy and multiple storage configurations. I would reccomend this model to everyone.
