Ice maker NOT working
on April 18, 2023
Posted by: Funkywag
I bought this refrigerator and it worked fine until recently. It started doing exactly what everyone said theirs was doing and not making ice. The ice maker freezes over and has to be thawed for it to work again. It then only works for about a day before it happens again. This means the ice maker does not work and from all of the feedback I've seen online, it should be a recall. How can a company that usually makes quality products, not make this right? People spent their hard earned money on a product and we want it to work. This makes me NOT want to buy anything that Samsung makes. It's a real let-down.

Hello,
The ice maker is one of the most used parts of the refrigerator, which should work correctly. Let us help!
A few factors can cause an ice maker not to work. Low water pressure or a faulty water filter may be to blame if the ice maker is not making enough ice. We recommend checking the links below for more details.

To keep your ice maker performing at its best, you'll want to ensure you keep up with preventative maintenance. I have provided a link below for reference.

If you have further questions or inquiries, these are the platforms that you can reach in the future:
Our flex zone draw stopped showing the temperature and we are unable to select between options. Now it freezes the items that we have in the drawer and is ruining so many items. This happened right after we just had someone hear to fix the ice maker and it went out of warranty. We had so many issues. What a disappointment and a waste as we have had it for approximately 3-4 years I believe. For this amount of money it should last way longer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Dirk, let's go ahead and have the refrigerator back on track.
Most cooling concerns can be resolved by adjusting refrigerator settings, proper use and care, inspecting and cleaning the door seals, or resetting the refrigerator. Please check the links below for tips.

We have had this refrigerator for several years and at first we really liked it. It is spacious, well designed, and the cooling works great. However, if I knew then what I know now, we wouldn't have purchased it. Starting about a year or so after we bought it, the ice maker would get clogged with ice and I would have to chip the ice out with a screwdriver to fix it. More recently, I have to use a hairdryer every 3-4 weeks to remove the ice, which is very annoying. Note that many other people have complained about this problem with the icemaker, both on the Samsung website and on other websites. If anyone has a solution for this problem, please let me know. I have searched but not found any solutions.

I loved the look, lighting and size of the fridge at first. Then within a year, the fridge started to leak on the floor. After that, the back condenser would ice, then melt into the drawers in the fridge. Soggy food had to be thrown out. Then the Fridge temp kept rising and all the food would spoil fast. Medicine had to be thrown out as well. Found out MANY people have same issue. Doing a temporary fix then looking for new fridge that is reliable.

Avoid this fridge

This came with the home I purchased fridge was <1 year old at the time, there are a lot of design flaws in this refrigerator. I would recommend you stay clear of this. The issues I've experienced are as follows: 1) The ice maker has never worked since I've moved in 2) The temperature sensor has a 7F degree offset 3) The Twin cooling freezes over, and constantly soaks the two drawers and bottom shelf melted water 4) After defrosting the fridge after a week it no longer gets down to temperature. It's set at 34F and only reaches, 48F on temperature sensor, 55F thermometer reading.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

DO NOT waste your money on this fridge
on July 21, 2023

We've had this fridge for 5 years and have had nothing but issues from the start. Constantly freezing over, leaking, you name it.. and now it won't cool at all. The only positive thing I can say is I love the flex zone drawer. I'm hopeful I'll find that feature on a different brand though, because there's a 0% chance I'll ever buy another Samsung appliance.
