Really Tired of the Ice Maker

This is decent looking and convenient refrigerator. The ice maker, however, is nothing but problems. It seems to freeze the ice dropping mechanism and quits producing ice. The only fix I have had luck with is using a hair dryer to melt the ice and let it clear. The ice maker can’t be removed easily for thawing purposes. The ice drawer can’t be reached by hand, so the only way to make it work is pull it all the way out. I find that it’s easier to buy ice from the store than to deal with this piece of junk. It’s especially bad in higher humidity than during the winter.
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Ice maker freezes over

I will never buy a Samsung Refrigerator ever again. The ice maker freezes over and water always leaks out of it. Samsung should recall the ice makers and make it nice for their customers.

LEAKS AND HAS CONSTANT ICE JAMS

Repeated ice build up in ice maker and it leaks water out of the ice dispenser door constantly. The catch tray fills up with water and then overflows all over the floor and door. They have been out to "fix" it 5 times and it still does the same thing! Buy a different model!

The design has numerous flaws

Upon first glance, the refrigerator looked great. However, soon after, we began noticing little flaws in the design of the fridge. The top shelf is fixed to the ice machine on the left, leaving the top shelf unadjustable. The middle shelf is limited in how high it can get also due to the ice machine which leave the bottom shelf slightly too low for larger jugs such as milk or bottles of soda. The only good spot to keep the is on the door which does not have enough space for more than two bottles.
When closing the doors, frequently, the left door will stay just a little open. This is enough for cold air to flow out of the fridge, but not easy to catch if you are looking directly at the fridge. The alarm on the door does not catch this, and we've returned to the kitchen to find the temperature in the 40's or 50's
Another small oversight on our part, was the lack of a rack for a butter dish on the door. I know, its the little things, but they all add up.
The next issue we have, is the lack of clearance for putting food in the top rack of the freezer. When we want to put a carton of ice cream in the freezer, we need to open the refrigerator doors to give us enough room to squeeze the carton in to the freezer.

Cons: Did not meet expectations

Ice Maker and Cooling Area

The ice maker continues to frost over and requires that I defrost the unit every week. The inside back panel has also frosted over and the ice build prevents the cooling fan from working.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, ice-maker freezes over, water dispenser leaks, fan ices up and prevents cooling.

Owned less than 2 yrs ice maker doesn't work

Ice maker quit working after we changed the filter for first time (about 6 months). Followed directions and within 3 wks ice built up so bad maker stopped working now every other week I9 have to defrost and chip away the ice in the back. Expensive fridge to have stopped working. Will never buy another Samsung product.

I love my French door Samsung refrigerator. I bought this because of the drawer for small items in the frig. It is so nice not to have to dig and move things to find what you are looking for. The lighting is like an airport runway, which I think it great. Also the 2 drawers in the freezer work out well for plenty of storage. The ice maker is noisy, but I have never seen one that isn't. I have recommended it to several people and my son and daughter-in law just got the newest french door. They love it! There are 2 things I would complain about: The ice maker has a tendency to get clogged in the chute when dispensing cubes, not so much with the crushed, but sometimes. Also the door alarm is not loud enough for older folks to hear.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, price is competitive, plenty of space with several adjustable shelves
Cons: ice dispenser could use some work, door alarm needs to be louder
I would recommend this to a friend!

Samsung French doors refrigerator

This is by far a beautiful looking refrigerator. Upon arrival it looked like Christmas morning but, after a few months the unit failed. The ice maker stop working and then the refrigerator wouldn’t get cold, the fan started making this loud noise and as a result a lots of ours food had to be thrown out because it had spoiled. I’m really disappointed with this Samsung refrigerators. I will never buy another one again.

Cons: Poor quality
