I guess I got lucky, mine is 8 years old and still makes ice. Seems the Ice maker hasn't cooperated for others, but I haven't had issues other than needing to defrost the Ice maker to maintain it. Very happy with the overall design and the middle drawer for Wine works great for every beverage favorite!
I would recommend this to a friend!

We have: this refrigerator, washer, drier, tv and galaxy s4. We would not have these items if we had any doubts about Samsung.
Pros: Durable, Realistic color, quality

Wonderful Fridge with one small problem

We like everything about our refrigerator other than the ice dispenser. There is a lot of space to store food within the refrigerator. The shelves are numerous, deep and flexible. The lighting is wonderful. We love the pull-out drawer. It looks super in our kitchen. Our one complaint is that the ice dispenser dispenses ice cubes and crushed ice slowly (about 1/2 the speed of the GE Profile fridge we replaced). The speed of dispensing water is fine. The ice dispenser is pretty loud (probably normal); however, because of the long time it takes to dispense ice, it is bothersome to people watching TV in the room next door. As problems go, this is not a big deal, particularly given how pleased we otherwise are.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable
Cons: slow and loud ice dispenser.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Owned the refrigerator for about a week. After getting the ice maker to work as it took time, I am very pleased with it. It has more room in it than my previous brand "X" unit, which was 3 cu ft smaller". So far, I love the refrigerator. (I do wish I could put the milk gallon on a regular shelf, however, instead of in the door. I guess I will have to get used to it.) The refrigerator does lack a deeper shelf for high-bottled items so my foldable shelf is up for the higher items.

This product is great with a couple exceptions

We've had our new Samsung French-door refrigerator for about 3 weeks now and mostly love it. It is very spacious -- the French doors are so much more functional than the side-by-side we replaced. The interior is brightly lit -- my sister says it looks like an airport runway! Shelving is easily adjustable. The items we access daily are at a good height. The middle drawer has been great for extra storage and for when our grandkids are over -- we can put their drinks, snacks, etc in there and they can use that drawer rather than the main fridge part. The freezer is also spacious. The only downsides we've had are: it is a bit noisier than we would have expected. When the compressor (I believe) comes on, there is a deep base rumble, that can be quite annoying at times. It's not so bad when there are things going on, but I would expect a fridge this high end to be much much quieter. The second downside is that you have to be careful to make sure the freezer drawer is really shut, because apparently the slightest crack and you end up with frost in the freezer. The "auto close"on the freezer drawer doesn't seem to work all that well, and we've followed the owner's manual on "resetting" it by opening fully and closing two times.
Pros: are these pros for the refrigerator i'm reviewing?
Cons: ditto on cons

This is a very attractive refrigerator with lots of room (amazing what 2 cu ft more of space will do over the unit it replaced). The interior lighting is excellent and the shelving flexibility is outstanding. The one disappointing feature is the ice maker. Being a French Door style, perhaps the deficiencies are because the ice maker is in the refrigerator portion since we got this model with the water and ice dispenser in the door. There is always a small drip of water when initially dispensing cubes and even when "cubed" ice is selected there is a substantial amount of crushed ice that is also dispensed. Even the cubes themselves are very small compared to what we have been used to with other refrigerators in the past.
The sides of this unit have a somewhat textured finish. Unfortunately, the doors and freezer drawer are a smooth finish and tend to show fingerprints more so than a textured finish would. Too bad the finish on the sides isn't carried over to the front of the unit.
If you can get past the ice maker everything else about this unit is pretty good. See pros and cons.
Pros: roomy, quiet, attractive, well lit interior
Cons: ice maker, smooth (non-textured) finish on front

I do not like the interiorshelves - not a lot of room for tall items like soda bottles, beer bottles, OJ bottles, etc. The door shelves are also lacking room - no butter compartment & weird arrangement w/ ice area. The freezer is smaller than we thought it would be - fit more items in old fridge that was upper freezer/bottom fridge. Like having ice/water dispenser, although it clogs up & dumps ice over floor few times in month we've owned it. Ultimately not worth money paid for.
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
