Beware ice maker issues

Less than two years in the ice maker does not work. Warranty expired and now although I have it covered elsewhere the tech says this is a manufacture issue and he cannot fix it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

For the ice maker to operate properly, a water pressure of 20 ~ 125 psi (138 ~ 862 kPa) is required.

Could have been great, but meh

Well made, but poor design features. Like all others, the ice maker is not good. Bad place to put something that freezes and defrosts. It takes up much of the top fridge, making us search for items in multiple spots. The plastic ice screw conveyor and bucket both crack after a few uses. Ice is obviously stronger and harder. The exterior dimensions are massive compared to the limited storage space.
I would have picked something else but this came pre-installed in our Condo.
PROs: beverage drawer, seems to take power outages well. Seals well, except ice maker. Easy change out of water filter.
CONs: Too many bells & whistles, ice maker (really should be a recall on this), limited realistic storage space, heavy, controls are easy to get wrong.
I would recommend this if it had a 5-year warranty like my Samsung 18 CUFT top freezer model. Few bells and whistles and pretty well designed.
I would have picked something else but this came pre-installed in our Condo.

I like the product in general

My review is more about the company. There were issues with the product when it was first purchased and installed. Samsung went all the way in resolving the problems. Now that they are fixed the refrigerator is probably the nicest I've owned. It has great features and runs so quite I can't tell it's running most of the time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Only had the refrigerator a month and it is great. Runs quietly and plenty of space. My only negative is finger prints on the stainless front..

Great Refrigerator

I love this refrigerator. The only drawback is that the water comes out of the dispenser very slowly and ice tends to shoot around as it comes it. Other than that, I have never had such a great refrigerator. It has lots of space and is well designed for holding everything I need to put in it. I love the bottom freezer. It is very roomy and still easy to find things in. I wasn't sure I wanted the extra drawer but now don't know how I lived without it. It saves so many door openings! I would highly recommend this refrigerator to anyone.

I bought this refrigerator four months ago and its has been great so far. I love the overall look and functionality of this refrigerator. I love the fact that it has a middle drawer to put drink's and snacks for my kid. It also has an option to super cool your foods in the top or in the freezer. There is an alarm if a drawer or a door get's left open, so then your food's won't spoil. I just love this refrigerator and I am glad that we purchased it. I am a big fan of Samsung, and will purchase their products in the future.
Pros: Durable

Most features are great but..

The finish shows finger prints very easily. The ice comes out almost like crushed, I think because the seal from the ice disperser allows warm air to get into the ice storage area.
Over all we REALLY like the middle tray.
Pros: Bright display, middle tray section works great.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, poor ice dispenser design

Thanks for the feedback, BDRDurham! Regarding the finish on your RF28HMEDBSR Refrigerator, there are a number of products available at your local appliance, hardware, home improvement or even grocery store specifically designed to clean real stainless steel. Simply follow the instructions on the package. Another option is to apply a small amount of baby oil to the stainless finish using a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. This will not only clean the stainless steel, but can help prevent fingerprints from recurring.
If you suspect warm air is making its way into the ice maker, please check to make sure the Refrigerator is level, especially side to side. Instructions can be found in the user Manual.
