Had to replace 19 year old dishwasher, boy technology has really advanced .I wish I would have replaced sooner. I absolutely love this dishwasher

The dishwasher works very well now, but in the first few months the dishwasher had completely shut down. The problem turned out to be that water had gotten into the buttons that are located at the top of the door and have open spaces for water to enter into. I am satisfied with its performance, but I think having the open buttons at the top is a bad design feature.

I wasn't sure I wanted this dishwasher until I compared the price point with other equally equipped machines. Thats when I realized what a value the GDT680SSH2SS really is. I'm very impressed with how smooth the drawers pull out. This model has A LOT of features! It cleans our dishes so well. Our old dishwasher left hard water spots after every wash. We thought it was the hard water we have in Arizona, nope just the weak old washer. The glasses come out looking like new. ZERO water spots! Would buy again just for those results. Can't go wrong with this Model!

Heated Drying does not work

This is the first dish washer that did not dry the dishes on heated dry. In fact, the dishes and machine are really wet.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GE - GDT680SSHSS Dishwasher

The steam cleaning feature is the best. A few weeks ago I power washed the components to my barbecue grill and was not satisfied with the cleanliness. So I put them in the dishwasher on the steam clean cycle....what a great job. I have neighbors who recently purchased BRAND X units and are totally dissatisfied with the units. To steal from another commercial, "a happy wife is a happy home."

I bought this dishwasher several months ago after having very poor performance experiences with 2 other leading brand drishwashers. So far this has pretty much performed to my expectations alhtough nothing outstanding. I am really pleased with the bottle jet feature that even cleans inside hard to reach mason jars. The large silverware holder is nice also. I like that when I interrupt a load to sneak in an extra item I do not end up with water all over my floor like previous washers. The dishes seem to consistenly get clean although I have had several instances where a load just didn't seem perfectly clean. (I use cascade platinum just for reference). Some drawbacks are that I find loading a bit difficult as I cannot ever really figure out how to effectively load bowls. Larger items like spatulas and knives also never seem to have a place. So far so good and I guess time will tell!
