Prior to my HP 8610 printer, I used Epson products for years, the cartridges always ran out prematurely and all cartridges had to be changed at once. The HP is a workhorse that lets to go to the very last drop of ink and individual inks can be changed as they ran out.

Pricey, but I wouldn't and couldn't trust a third party brand. I'm not a heavy printer user but I always go with the XL (extra large) because it's more cost effective and lasts me much longer than the standard size cartridges. The ink never smears, thanks to being quick drying and it works great regardless of the thickness of the paper used. HP ink will always be my go to, providing the quality isn't degraded.
