I've used the HP high yield black cartridges since I bought my HP printer and wouldn't use anything else. I used a recycled ink cartridge in my prior HP printer, and I believe that's what messed up my printer. This cartridge may not be the cheapest brand on the market, but it prints perfectly and practically forever, plus my machine is still working perfectly as well. I learned my lesson. Go cheap, and you mess up your printer.

I always get the HP 950XL ink cartridge in black and also the HP 951XL ink cartridges in the 3 other colors, they last a long time and are definitely worth the extra money, it's a great value.
