I have always used HP original equipment cartridges in all of the HP printers that I have ever owned. I have never had any issues with any of them.
The HP 950 XL High Yield cartridge is no different. I usually get at least 2-3 months use out of the black high yield cartridges. I use them until they won’t print anymore. I always keep spare cartridges on hand when one runs dry I have a replacement ready to go back into the printer then reorder a replacement.

I purchased for the first time for this printer - shocked at price, and that I could not just install a black ink cartridge on this printer, since most of what I print is black and white. But was out of the other inks and was shocked the printer would not let run with the Black ink only. I needed to purchase all the inks which combined are a fortune for me....
