[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like the refrigerator and freezer, especially French doors. However, there was constant condensation on the door slat that seals the doors shut. The seals eventually turned black with mildew and mold. Was told that LG knew of the problem and that this model was supposed to have a heated door slat that would eliminate the condensation and mold/mildew issue. I replaced the seals and noticed that the electrical connection behind the door slat hinge had been cut and taped over and a unheated door slat was installed while being built at the factory. Previous models of this refrigerator had an Energy Saver switch which cured the condensation issue. This one needed a heated door slat since there was no such switch. The factory did not build this refrigerator with the correct part to avoid condensation...which I am now trying to fix. It is a nice unit, but ONLY if it was correctly built and has no defects that lead to a constant condensation problem. Someone at the factory messed up and I hope LG will stand behind their product.

I've had this fridge for 5 years and the freezer drawer wasn't sealing properly so everything was icing inside, the compressor broke and the evaporator coil was fully blocked. They don't make fridges like they used to.

Very Noisy Fan

The fan that kicks on to dry the lower drip tray (part of the defrost system) is very noisy - a high pitched whine. It is so loud it is very noticeable when it kicks on.

Finding parts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are finding that LG does not produce parts for this model. Some options but this is bad for my next buy which will not be LG due to the lack of basic replacement shelves on the door side opposite the butter.

This fridge is amazing. LG has built a quiet, efficient, stylish and value loaded refrigerator that has the high capacity families need. And it's reasonably priced. From the split shelves that give you the ability to make room for oversized items to the super efficient ice maker, this is a high quality refrigerator, perfect for kitchens where the need is great but space is not. We could not be happier with it.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, smart

Don't waste your money

It stopped running 2 times in the first 2 years. We turn it off and defrost it once or twice a year (when we hear a particular noise, thanks to a tip from one of the repairmen) to keep it from breaking again. the plastic parts on the inside started falling apart after the third year. The cheese drawer is completely broken and several of the plastic brackets that hold up the shelves on the door have broken so I need to be careful were I store anything heavy like a gallon of milk or jar of pasta sauce. Also, the "stainless" is rusting. I called the company once to ask for a cheese drawer replacement and was told a manager would call me back...no one ever called. It's a piece of garbage from a disputable company.
