Bought this 7 years ago and it's been a fantastic fridge until the compressor failed last month and I lost about $300 of frozen food. At today's inflationary prices, that's a lot of food! I suggest to engineering that they build an alarm system into this machine so it will alarm if the temperature of either the refrigerator or the freezer rises 5 degrees above setpoint. you need to include a readout of both the actual and setpoint temperatures. it's the only way to know if we are going to lose all of our food! And since I'm an Engineer, I know it can be done!

We bought this model four years ago to replace a similar French Door Refrigerator. I love the French Doors. There’s less bending over to get things. The LED lights are energy efficient and bright. I can see everything. The very best features that many similar refrigerators do not have are the excellent door seals in the middle for BOTH fridge doors, and the plastic hooks on the freezer that prevent it from opening when you close one or both fridge doors. These features make all the difference! The doors close, seal, and stay sealed unless you open them.
Unfortunately, our beloved refrigerator-freezer suddenly died It was under warranty. I called LG. They sent a repairman. It’s fixed! All is well. I hope that the new parts last. Fingers crossed.
The refrigerator broke down after about 6 years. The Smart Diagnostics was difficult to use and I still do not know what is wrong. The refrigerator and freezer are not cold enough.

I just don't understand why I can't get this part . LG keeps sending the wrong part in the correct box

This refrigerator is somewhat noisy. The seal is coming off the top corner of the freezer causing frost on the foods.very disappointed.

It is a SHAME

LG is a worldwide brand with great products, but unfortunately, the French-door refrigerator has a BASIG SHAMEFUL PROBLEM. The water filter needs a technician to be replaced. This is the second filter replacement since we bought this unit, and it is the second time that we had to call an LG technician to do something that was supposed to be so simple, changing a water filter, and worse, we have to pay the technician to do it, pay for a problem that is not ours. I’ve spoken to other LG French-door refrigerator and they have the same problem.
A simple water filter replacement. How did the designers, engineers, quality control missed this simple item. One of the only things that a owner needs to do, changing a filter, and it cannot be done easily. SUCH A SHAME LG.
Are we going to have to call your technician every time that the water filet needs to be replaced???
Besides paying for the filter we will always have to pay for it to be replaced? Do you really need to make money this way?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
