I bought my LG 22 cu ft refrigerator in 2018 and I am doing this review in 2022. It has worked very well for my family over this period and is still like new. Only issue I had (and reason for not giving it a 5 star) is that the compressor packed up this year.. but the good news is that it was still under warranty and LG sent a technician who provided and changed the part without any cost to me and this was done on a timely basis. My refrigerator now has a new lease of life.

I replace my long ago purchased LG refrigerator freezer with the same model. The new one is identical except for improvements such as split shelves and clear fronted bins. I've been so pleased with LG products that I've replaced my washer and TV to great satisfaction as well. I even bought my sister in Colorado a new LG washer for upstairs so that she wouldn't have to go down treacherous stairs for her old laundry. She's thrilled as well. I highly recommend LG products from my past experience for design and longevity.

I had to buy this fridge after my previous LG Fridge failed. The compressor suddenly stopped working and the cost to replace it almost matched the cost to buy a new one. I am sad I had to replace it with an LG. It was the only one that fit in the space I have. I hope to have this fridge a long time. If not I would rather renovate my kitchen than buy another LG product. The wide drawer at the bottom of the fridge makes no sense. I am constantly needing both doors open to access item which I think is pointless. Everything is bulky and there is not a good configuration to fit taller items in the fridge without removing one of the shelves. I also find the pockets at the very bottom of the doors SUUUUUUUUUUUUPER pointless. I know you all can do better than that. Like I said, this purchase was a lack of options and you are very lucky you got my business.

When will LG provide a decent compressor?

I purchased this refrigerator in February of 2019, and it stopped cooling on Labor Day 2022. We had wisely purchased an extended warranty from the store, and a technician was able to come right away. He said that the compressor had failed. In reading reviews, I now know that LG compressors are not reliable. We lost a refrigerator and freezer full of food, and although we'll be reimbursed $200 per the warranty, it doesn't come close to reimbursing what we lost, especially during these days when inflation is such a problem. We loved the refrigerator, and its large capacity is a plus. However, going forward, we will be vigilant in checking to make sure that it's cooling, because we know that one day, this compressor will fail as well. Will not buy LG in the future.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
