This TV has it all, the setup was as easy as can be: 1)attach stand with two included screws 2) plugged in power, and HDMI Cable from service provider 3) Setup wireless internet via protected setup and presto everything works! The Picture is astounding and rivals that of my Sony Ultra 4K, because sources are obviously not 4k yet, except on my Sony 4k Streamer and 4k Blu Ray player, so HD Cable and internet are the same HD quality. The new menu is very simple to use and customizable. I was looking for a smaller to fit into a cabinet and this TV was the perfect size and the price was extremely good, and the quality is certainly there with this chip (the processing is extremely fast) For the fraction of the cost of my other Sony TVs I got something of extremely high quality and the wireless internet is also very fast. I am glad I bought through Sony and not a third party vendor, everything was delivered via FedEx the morning of release date!!!! The service and product I expect from Sony. The reason I got this TV, is because of the size, (needed it to fit a smaller entertainment cabinet) and the chip set. the wireless built in and the smart functions. Take it from someone that owns the highest end product, this is not the low end even though the price is. I highly recommend this TV if you need a smaller size TV, I would have got the 47" but it was too big for my cabinet and this one barely clears the cabinet!!! The picture is amazing and sounds great. If you want theater sound, get a theater system for this TV, but do not complain about the clear sound the speakers put out, this TV, just sounds great and looks amazing!

Solid Gaming Television

Spent about six months looking for a gaming televison with multiple HDMI ports. Almost picked up a Samsung and then this model came up on preorder. Turned out to be a great choice. Very pleased with the overall picture quality, and it is fast enough to support even the twitchiest games. Both current generation systems look spectacular - and no issues with the last generation ones. Setup was easy, and it is light enough that I was able to install it alone. Firmware updates aren't really annoying - and there is an option to delay them until it is in standby mode.
Only real gripe is that one of the HDMI ports is on the side, and there is no component audio output. Had to put a splitter on the headphone jack to support my older wireless headphones - which means there isn't room to fit the fourth HDMI cable. Managed to jury rig something - but if you aren't somewhat technical, you may need to buy new wireless headphones to go with it.
Only real gripe is that one of the HDMI ports is on the side, and there is no component audio output. to be honest this thing is light as a feather. I have several Bravias around the house but this by far is the one going into the video game room. Didn't expect to see a difference in quality compared to past models but as soon as i saw the true dept in person i was shocked. Really glad i purchased this model! also came with wall brackets which i may put up and see how it goes :D

Excellent TV

I purchased this TV because a previously purchased LG television did not function as my husband wanted it to. The LG's smart features werent so smart, the sound was terrible and tinny and the picture was grainy.
So we picked up the Sony which was only a few dollars more than the LG and are thrilled with the purchase. Sound I would rate 3-4 stars becuase you do have to turn up the volume fairly loud to be able to hear it at an acceptable volume without a sound bar or surround sound system. But the picture is beautiful, the base is FAR sturdier than the LG's. The smart features are amazing and it has the playstation now on it. I have yet to play with this but I havent played on a playstation since the PS2 was popular so this is a nice extra treat.
All I can say is "buy this TV now. You wont be disappointed"

I've had Sony products for many years. When we decided to get a smart tv for our home where we have no cable but do have internet access, we looked at this at a local electronics store.
The documentation was minimal, and the eManual was not much better. The USB dongle that was enclosed with the paperwork was probably the best description of how to use this.
Be aware that this will not replace a computer. You can use apps, such as Netflix and Youtube, but other access of video sources will not work because you cannot update Adobe Flash Player. So, I ended up getting a HDMI cable to connect my computer, which still presented quite a delay in streaming videos from the web.
The entire concept of this smart tv is complicated. It suggests that you can use portable devices to show up on this smart tv, but they're pretty much proprietary Sony products.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

i have had a sony 40' bravia from 3 years ago. this one is a far jump better than my old one. the colors are vibrant and the picture clarity is very sharp. the cine-motion is pretty good all though i have seen better from more expensive tvs. overall i would say this is the best tv for the price. then again i am very sony bias.
