Best TV

Over the last few months, I bought an LG and Samsung LED and returned both. I had a 40" Sony Bravia, but couldn't find a new Sony in my price range. This was the best purchase I have made. Great picture quality, great sound #no sound bar needed, unlike other brands#, and no soap opera effect! I would recommend this TV to anyone looking for a new TV. On top of being a great TV, I saved $80 by using the mount included with the TV!! The TV is just north of 20 lbs. I had to buy 8 lag screws, but it looks great on my wall!

Pros:
-Energy Star
-USB compatible: USB with videos can plug & play like pc.
-smart, WIFI, Youtube
-lightweight
-picture quality
-audio
-a ton of manual/auto setting
Cons:
-Audio can be muffle/unclear sometime
- may be too much manual setting for beginner
-Frame per second is low: 60Hz
-prefer 120Hz or more, but this one is do-able
-Remote control is not ergonomic
-no 3D (knew that when purchased)
-Power Cord is TOO short.
Overall:
-not a bad buy if you are looking for TV contemporary features:
-smart, wifi, media player, apps, and space saving design.
-
I would recommend this to a friend!

Well TV is great only thing is Web browser by Opera doesn't support Flash media player , or Google Chrome it would be great if they do update for those . Otherwise its like normal TV with some web option limited .

OK experience

While the picture is great, my overall experience could be best described as OK.
This is simply because 2 months into buying the tv, and after a system update (automatic, I must add), I am unable to use even the basic features such as the Media Player. An error message greets me everytime I turn on the tv now. saying 'Some applications are not available due to internal error. Please refer to the i-Manual'. The trouble is when you refer to i-Manual, it does not tell you anything.
Additionally, opening other apps like Netflix and Youtube is slow. Whereas there are alot of Opera-supported apps available, majority of them are either junk or do not work. Facebook and Twitter integration looks like from the not-so-smartphones of pre-2007 years.
Buy it only if the picture quality is of an interest to you. Other 'frills' are not usable due to their inept design as per the current day and age.
There is a reason why Sony has chosen to use Android TV for all Bravia sets in 2015. And now I am having buyer's remorse to have waited for some time before buying this one, but I wouldnt have known until I had a crystal ball.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not what I expected

I purchased this television on August 3, 2014 and the screen goes black. There was a notice on the internet that there is a repeated reboot problem. I followed the instruction and it is still shutting down. I am going to return it.
I am not happy at all.

Worst purchase ever

I bought this TV on June 6th. It was delivered on June 13th. We watched it 3 days and it just went off and never came back on. After numerous and I mean numerous attempts to customer service, They finally sent someone to work on it with no success. Well here I am July 22 and we still have no service, no TV and the worst customer service that I have ever experienced in my life. I know we have called at least 20 times. I even bought a 2 year warranty on it. Good thing. It will take 2 years before they do anything. One more call and I'm getting my money back. Feed up with all this. With this type of service they are destroying their Sony name.

Great picture-great value

I purchased this model to replace a 6-year old 46" Bravia. My former model cost $1700 and this new model was originally $650 before my SONYCARD discount. Ordered directly from SONY with free shipping. Great service, came within 10 days by local truck after shipping from Chicago by air. Picture and sound are an improvement from my former Bravia and I thought the picture was great on that model at the time. I know SONY is pushing the high end models, but this model blows away the competition. This model should sell a lot of units!

Not totally happy

Always loved my SONY TV's. Not please with the blotchyness of the backlighting. On a white screen thaere are many dark spots which really bother me. There are also defects along the top edge like the LCD sreen was being pinched.
These defects don't seem to bother my wife. I thought about returning it but don't know if there is anything any better out there for the price.
