If I'd written this review a month ago, I would have given 4 stars, but since then the dryer started making loud grinding noise of metal on metal and I will have to pay a large bill for out of warranty service. A previous Kenmore dryer didn't develop any problems for over 10 years and, when it did, I was able to replace the belt and a switch myself. This Samsung is much more complicated and I didn't dare tackle it myself.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Drum Crack

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i purchased this dryer november 2016 as new. i started hearing clanking noise a few months ago and finally noticed a big crack at the rear end of the drum when one of my shirt got caught in it.

Do not buy!

purchased in 2015. after 4 years of use the dryer stopped heating and we had to have it repaired and the heating element replaced. now 8 months later the dryer stopped heating again.

We purchased this dryer when we bought our home and it worked great at first but less then 2 years in we had to replace the motor which was not cheap 2 years later we had to have it serviced again and here we are again needing to replace the motor again! It's only 8 years old and if we pay to replace the motor again we will have paid the same as what we paid for the dryer itself. I do not recommend unfortunately.
