oven takes too long to come up to temp. The microwave cooling fan is bothersome it comes on to cool the microwave even if only used for 30 to 45 seconds

The oven has been installed for a month. Like the simplicity of the design and functionality. My only complaint is that the black trim on the oven does not match the new black refrigerator we just purchased. Small detail, but important!!

Great and sleek oven!

So far we love the oven. It looks very modern and sleek in our kitchen. It had a weird smell the first time we used it, but has gone away. Very happy with our purchase.

non-intuitive interface

We purchased this as a replacement for another GE microwave/oven combination wall unit. This one has much less user-friendly controls. Most functions take about 5 button presses, plus knob turning. Our old one had very clear actual buttons, and most functions took 2-3 button presses. It works fine, but learning to use the controls has been frustrating so far. In ordere to figure some things out I had to read the entire manual. for exmaple, setting the clock--there's a paragraph in the manual about the clock which tells you the clock functions, but not how to set them. The fans in both oven and microwave are very quiet. Unfortunately, the end of cycle beeps are also quiet. I haven't used it yet, but I expect the proff funciton will be useful for me.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This oven does not tell you what the actual temperature is in the oven. All it shows is what the chosen bake temperature is. They told me I need to just wait 10 to 20 minutes to put my pan in, and just hope it has reached the desired temperature. Evidently, a light to tell you when your preheat temperature has been reached is an “option”, not standard. The alarm telling you the baking time is finished is a low volume electronic signal that cannot be heard if you have a the TV on, or if there is a conversation going. The microwave door window fogs up when cooking frozen dinners, and the condensation is in the window, between inner and outer pains so can’t be wiped off. It sometimes lasts an hour or more. The fan stays on after the microwave has finished cooking, so if you miss the little signal, you think the microwave is still cooking. It is a built in unit that can’t be easily replaced, so I am learning to live with it. All I can tell you is, have someone demonstrate how this thing works before you buy it. If they don’t have this particular model on the floor, or if it is not hooked up or whatever, choose another one. I gave two stars because it does work, but I am afraid this thing with the microwave window is a sign of something wrong, but they will charge me if they come out to look and decide it is functioning as it should. That seems dodgy to me. Their customer service line is of no use if you have online access to the manual, because that is all they do. They have no helpful knowledge beyond what is in the manual.
