Combo oven microwave unit

Looks good, direct fit from previous GE unit, don’t like bottom hinged microwave door from older unit side opening door, pretty crappy change for short people, kids to reach up and over, especially with just heated food, but typical for engineers and accountants cost savings, don’t you people ever talk to customers first?!?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The oven is perfect, has even cooking and nice controls. The microwave is the same in controls but its huge capacity. If i had to complain the only thing that is not great is the microwave door. It opens down instead of sideways. This makes it hard for my short wife to get to the back and clean.

Had product for only one week. So far my only comment is this. Once the unit was installed and microwave handle wrapper was removed it showed a dent in the handle which must be replaced. Awaiting call back from installer as when replacement handle can be installed.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Our 3rd Wall Oven Since 1982.....and all were GE

A wonderful adddition to our kitchen. This is our 3rd GE wall oven sice 1982....the first came with our new house in 1982. The 2nd installed in 2011 and now our third. Very stylish and modern looking...looking forward to many more years of General Electirc appliance reliability!!!

The combo oven is sleek and looks good, but there are issues: upon installation, the oven doesn’t heat properly; I verified with a separate oven thermometer that the oven is over-heating, and I’ve requested a warranty repair.
Also, there’s a major design flaw with the microwave, with the door opening down, rather than to the side. This makes it difficult to place things in and take out from the oven, and I can barely reach the back to clean splatters, because the door is in the way.
The microwave is also over-engineered, requiring you to set 4 or 5 settings, including the power level, every time you use it.
And I don’t like using a dial, rather than pressing a touch pad.
Finally, a motor continues running, in the microwave, after the time you set expires, and the display says that the oven is cooling. This motor keeps running, until you open the door, no matter how long you wait, “for the oven to cool.”
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Regarding the oven temperature, we can advise that elements cycle on and off throughout the cycle to maintain an average set temperature. You’ll see a normal rise and fall in temperatures; temperatures may vary by 30°F higher or lower than what the appliance is set to. Among other tips, we recommend disconnecting the oven from power for a couple of minutes before reconnecting, to reset it.
We do expect the cooling fan to continue running after cooking stops, and to shut off automatically when the internal parts of the oven have cooled. If that isn’t stopping automatically as it’s meant to and a reset doesn’t help, we’re confident the technician will be able to assist with that as well as the temperature issue.
