So quiet and pretty!

We bought this to replace our old GE oven microwave combo and this is such an upgrade. The oven fan is so quiet you barely notice it. It looks so sleek and all my friends think I have a double oven. Love the look!

I really like the appearance and the microwave oven in particular. Ended up with a void on bottom when replaced Jenn Air combination so question the accuracy of the website meaurements.

Expanded setting options & upgrades

This model replaced my 27-yr old oven, so I can't believe how many extra features there are now. I love the larger microwave (with turntable!), lots of different setting options and the fact that the oven coil is now enclosed under the oven floor, which seems to make it more spacious. Also, the display shows the current time, oven temperature setting, microwave countdown and timer countdown all at a glance. What a concept! My favorite option is that the oven can be set to Fahrenheit or Celsius, which is great for an ex-Brit who has lots of cookbooks & recipes that specify oven temperatures in Celsius - no more time wasted trying to figure out the conversions. I haven't used the steam clean option for the oven floor yet or the bread proofing setting but am looking forward to using them very soon.
The only disadvantage is the Selection Dial, which I am always turning the wrong way. Seriously? What's wrong with directional arrows?

Main criticism of an otherwise fine product is that there is a mechanical rotary switch that controls both upper and lower ovens. This switch feels fragile and will be a high-wear item and failure of this control would render the entire unit, upper AND lower inoperative. Separate control, fewer control inputs, and elimination of the single control would be an improvement. I know, automobile product planners started the rotary wheel control trend, but their controls have a much higher quality feel and failure does not render the car inoperable.

Better than expected

We have had this unit for about 2 months and I must say that I like it better than I thought I would. Speciffically the microwave and the door opening from top to bottom, instead of from the side. Took a little getting used to the controls versus our old GE, but like them just fine. The only thing that would make it better is a louder alarm for timer/ finished cooking, as you can barely hear it. Overall, a nice unit.

Easy instal, looks great!

Easily installed and looks very nice. Replaced a very antiquated GE combination Oven/Microwave. Controls are easy to understand and navigate. Compared to old unit preheat is quick. Just under 13 minutes to 375 degrees to bake my first pizza. So far very pleased with this purchase at a great price.

Appealing Unit

My last GE wall unit lasted 31 years so this unit will probably outlast me. Overall, it seems to well made and works well; however, it does have a number of usability issues that you should be aware of. For some reason they decided to use a very low contrast value for the fonts on the touch screen. I suppose this gives it a cleaner look but at times it's difficult to read the labels on the control surface. There's no back light so if the lights are low or there's glare on the screen, it's very difficult to read. If you have anyone in your family with poor or low vision they will have trouble seeing the touch screen. It would have been great if they had included a option to turn on back light for the panel. The panel also shows finger marks easily. It also seems they opted to keep the user interface simple so many of the functions are nested in several sub menus. For example, on my old unit I could use an express key to turn on the microwave for 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 minutes with one button push. Now it takes numerous pushes and dial turns to achieve the same result. I wish they had included one programmable key so you could save a favorite time setting. The "chirp" alarm sound on the microwave cannot be adjusted.
