Microwave design challenging for short people

We replaced our 18 year old GE wall oven with this one. It looks nice and sleek, it works as well as our old one, the installation was easy, but the microwave door is difficult for me to maneuver around since I am 5'2 and the door opens down like the oven instead of to the side like our previous microwave. I have to stand on my tippy toes to put a plate in. I've had it for a month now and that's my only complaint

Love the design of the microwave

The microwave opens like an oven for easier access. It looks great above the oven. The controls for both the upper microwave and the lower oven are above the microwave at eye level. So easy to see and operate. I also like the stainless steel interior of the microwave. Easy to clean and does not seem to stain like the white interior of my former microwaves.

Nice, but some design flaws

Very nice looking unit that fits in nicely with other appliances. Major problem with design of the microwave unit. Door opens downward making access to inside of unit very difficult. My 5'2" wife cannot reach inside to place or get food or to clean the unit. Door that drops down totally blocks access. Also, oven reached desired temps. very slowly. Would not buy this again because of the microwave design.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The many features on this combo are easy to use. I’ve really enjoyed some of the special features like Soften-Butter in the microwave that works like a charm.

My family has always been using General Electric since I was a little boy I am 48 years old and I have never had any bad service.. To my understanding general electric is top-of-the-line and has proven itself throughout these years as long as I keep shopping for appliances it will be General Electric

This product is not easy to control. Have to make too many turns before I get to my desired temperature. Takes too long to reach a desired bake temperature.
