Slight to moderate improvement in detail. HDR is great. Still has grain. Not worth a full price purchase. If you catch it on a bit of a sale and are a fan, I would say pick it up.

Movie - There is evil stalking adults in the Corn Fields of Gatlin Nebraska! Stephen Kings classic novel makes its way to Blu-ray, this 1984 Classic Horror film was greeted with mixed reviews, with people either loving it, or hating it. I personally didn't think it was a great film but it did have its memorable moments and worthy of my Blu-ray collection.
Video - Presented in 1.85:1 ratio 1080p in AVC MPEG-4 on a 50gb disc the colors are generally good and clarity is never an issue in outdoor settings in daytime conditions. Night time and indoor shots are a whole different issue, with speckling and crushing of blacks to a point where they look gray. Outdoor night time scenes also present some speckling, especially involving action scenes.
Audio - supports a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack that generally rely's on the front channels. So much so, I began to wonder why they even encoded it into Hidef! Even so, It still sounded great with clarity and evenness, never straining my ears to hear dialog or surging during action sequences.
Extras - BD Live content - Theatrical Trailer - Fast Film Facts - Welcome to Gatlin " The making of Children of the Corn - It was the Eighties " Hamilton interview " - Harvesting Horror " Children of the Corn Documentary " - Still Gallery. I personally don't give overall high marks to " Children of the Corn " or give it great reviews, but with this said, if you are a die-hard Stephen King fan buy it! If not.... Stay out of the Corn!
What's great about it: Good popcorn ( No Pun) movie from the 80's..Linda Hamilton..all in 1080p
What's not so great: Video is a mixed bag.. Audio uses front channels in excess

"Children of the Corn" is the 1984 adaptation of a Stephen King tale that turns children into monsters. Following in the tradition of "The Bad Seed" and "Village of the Damned," "Children of the Corn" sets out to shatter our notion that childhood is a time of innocence. The opening scene grabs us right away. In Gatlin, Nebraska, a small farming community, the good citizens follow church on Sunday with breakfast at the local coffee shop. One morning, however, the town's children rise up against the adults, poisoning their coffee and slashing their throats in a violent, horrifying sequence. Skip ahead three years. Burt and Vicky (Peter Horton, Linda Hamilton) have a bad accident outside Gatlin and walk to town, searching for help. But they find no adults. Eventually, they discover that the children of Gatlin have formed a religious cult around an evil entity, "He Who Walks Behind the Rows." Though far from a classic, this film has an enormous following and has inspired six sequels, five released directly to DVD. Its appeal lies partly in the performances of the two young leads. John Franklin plays Isaac, the nine-year-old prophet who organized the cult, and Courtney Gains portrays the odd-looking and unsettling Malachai. Bonus extras include the featurette, "Welcome to Gatlin: The Sight and Sounds of Children Of the Corn;" an interview with Linda Hamilton; audio commentary by director Fritz Kiersch and actors John Franklin and Courtney Gains; and the documentary "Harvesting Horror: Children of the Corn."
What's great about it: One of Stephen Kings best movies

I’m a little bit disappointed in this 4k version. Thought it would be crystal clear, but many scenes infested with grain, and I’m not talking about corn. I get it’s an old movie, but it’s a classic that should of been super on 4k. There are a few scenes that look great but not enough. If you have the Blu Ray version, don’t upgrade to the 4k version.

Campy by today's standards, but a great '80s horror movie. So glad to finally have this on DVD. Pretty basic DVD, but sometimes it is nice to just have a movie on DVD.

This is just a classic. Of course it's a bit dated, movies have come a long way over the years and discovered ways of being freakier and more sophisticated. But this is just a classic and definitely fun to watch. Especially since the last time I watched it, most of the kids in the movie were older than me, i think the only person older than me in the movie now is the old mechanic that gets killed in the garage. I love it!
