It looks nice and has several features that we were looking for (e.g., turn table on and off). It seems to cook evenly and the door opens and closes without taking my wife's shoulder out of joint, which is more than I can say for the GE that we replaced. We also like the 3 speed vent fan. The only negative is the small view window and dim light in the microwave make it impossible to see the status of what is cooking. So there you have it ... lots of pluses and one minus.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a fine microwave and will do well for us hopefully for a long time. One thing about it that I wish was different is that the display area is quite small. The numbers are fairly small and are not very bright. Also in general the display area is smaller than my old microwave. When there are words scrolling across the bottom of the display, I can't see all of the words from where I'm standing...right next to the cooktop with the microwave over it. I have to step back from the cooktop to see what the words say. Part of this is due to the fact that the opening where the microwave fits is fairly high. I should have maybe picked a microwave that is a bit taller. There's quite a bit of space between the bottom of my microwave and my cooktop...which is good, but it makes it hard to read the display from where I usually stand. Another thing I've noticed is that when I make popcorn in the microwave if I use the "popcorn" setting the popcorn comes out a little burnt tasting. I've also tried just setting the time manually and listening for when the popcorn stops popping, and it still comes out a little burnt tasting. I think I need to look into using a lower power level when making microwave popcorn. This microwave seems to be more powerful that the last one I owned. Overall,, I'm pleased with the microwave. It seems to be solid and hopefully will last longer than my last microwave did.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this microwave with the intent of it matching my other appliances and for its overall quality reviews. For some reason after 18 months of normal use, the heating system in the microwave stopped working. Normally, appliances such as this last many years but obviously as technology improves, longevity declines. Back in the day (80s), appliances lasted decades, now they are expected to last a few years at best which is disappointing. I am working to get it fixed through the warranty but that is proving difficult and taking a long time. I might as well buy a new microwave but I would rather get it fixed under the warranty.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When my mold microwave went out I wanted to get an OTR microwave. After looking over features I decided on the LG microwave. It had excellent instructions, mounted easily. It works great and the fan is quiet. However, one reason I bought this microwave is because it says in the literature on online, "Smoothtouch glass controls are LED-illuminated for a sleek appearance and ease of use." The keypad controls are NOT illuminated. I even called LG Customer Service before buying the microwave and asked about this feature. The Rep told me, "Yes, the controls are lighted." So while I am happy with the microwave one of the main features I desired is not present. Lastly, the light under the microwave isn't very bright.
