Replaced 12 year old LG with this- wish we hadn't!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had an LG Microwave we purchased in 2005 that was wonderful! It had the rectangular tray that moved back and forth instead of spinning around. It cooked the food much better and more evenly. This one is a piece of junk! Takes longer to cook anything and we still get hot and cold spots in stuff. The door is hard to see through so watching anything is pretty much impossible. It doesn't cook bacon worth a flip! Parts are burned to a crisp and parts are raw. It cost too much to throw out and replace so we're stuck with it until it breaks or we move. If we had known that the quality had gone down instead of up we would have tried to repair the old one- it was so much better! Really disappointed! Oh, and we've had to fix things on it already and it isn't even 3 years old yet!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I like that the knobs are in the front and don’t accidentally turn on when I’m cleaning the stove top (like my last stove). The oven is a beautiful blue. I’ve not baked yet but look forward to it. The top is easy to maintain.

Lights way too Dim

Overall, the Microwave is a good purchase (unless you are older than 35 years old). Then it becomes almost impossible to use. The light (underneath) that points to the Stove Top (is way too Dim - almost impossible to see the stove let alone cook). For this reason only, I would say DO NOT purchase this product
