It works - but not the software that comes with it

I bought this scanner about 6 weeks ago to replace my old 10+ yr old Epson scanner that had finally died. I do like that it runs on USB power (no power adapter) and it scans pretty fast for higher resolutions scans. However, the scanning software that came with is and/or is available on Epson's website does NOT work on Windows 7 (64-bit) - only the device driver works. So to scan and fax I have to use the built-in Windows Fax and Scan application, which sucks. Disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor performance

When it works, it's fine. Unfortunately it often doesn't work at all. It often won't scan by pushing the buttons on the machine, so you have to go into the software, bring up the scan icon and do it that way. A real pain.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am very relieved that this inexpensive product was relatively easy to install, register, and use to scan right away. I have been using Epson products from the late 90's, and have been pleased with final results, but not always with hiccups along the way (driver issues, etc.). Still a loyal consumer. Wish they would make an affordable tpu scanner with a bigger scan size than 6cm by 22cm!

I just installed my new scanner and am very pleased with it. It's lightweight, well-made, installed very easily and scanned my first picture beautifully. It looks better than the original photo. Couldn't be more pleased.

I love this scanner. Software loaded easily, it scans fasts, I love the size and the light weight of the product. The quality of the scans even when I set the resolution lower is great! I will recommend this scanner to anyone looking for one.
