Wow. I can understand how this was special when it 1st came out, but wow what a bad movie.... I decided not to see the new one based off of this movie, and I am a huge horror fan. The lady in the movie was very annoying and the acting wasn't the best. Due to what you can tell about the budget, you can pretty much determine what will happen or won't happen. I will not watch it ever again.

Although this movie was somewhat of a sensation when it came out, it's really fairly boring. If you get your kicks from listening to three teenagers talk dirty and act scared at times, then you'll love it. In terms of real substance, there is not much there.

I saw this way back when you went to the store to rent it, and at the time people were making the claim that it seemed so real, and there was a myriad of rumors floating around about it. It was absolutely horrible, not at all realistic, just cheaply done and for some reason some people bought into it. Seriously, Tremors is more realistic than this garbage and much easier on the eyes. If you watch it using fast forward it's marginally palatable in 10 minutes time.

This movie when it came out, seemed too freak a lot of people out. I also remember many people actually thinking it was real!! That was great work on the directores part. Overall this is a very enjoyable movie too watch. IF you could watch it outdoors in a woods, it might be very scary. Inside though on your couch, not that scary.
What's great about it: Fery original movie
What's not so great: Not that scary
I would recommend this to a friend!

If you haven't seen this movie and enjoy scary movies you definitely should check it out (don't waste your time with the second movie). This movie freaked tons of people out when it first released and for good reason. The home movie style filming made it seem real. The acting is pretty decent and the overall story is good. Even better, you can usually find this movie on blu-ray for pretty cheap! It's not the best scary movie ever made, but it is still worth watching.
