Classic horror movie

As the above poster said the PQ is good and so is the AQ.
Much better then the first release which was done by Starz/Anchor Bay.
Don't expect to be blown out of the water but overall the PQ is very good. For a catalog title they master they used was very good. Some crush on the blacks but shots done in sunlight are very detailed.
If you are a Evil Dead fan then grab this while it is cheap. A worthy upgrade if you have the DVD or the first blu ray release.

Great horror comedy film

For me, this is easily the best of the Evil Dead series. The movie is so over-the-top and crazy. Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi work so well together. If you have any interest at all in this film, then I'd say pick it up. You don't need to have seen the first film.

I must be in the minority in regard to my views on this film, because I think that it is a big letdown from the original Evil Dead (which I regard as one of the best horror films of all time). The first half of the film is quite good, but then the film really goes downhill around the halfway point with the introduction of some really annoying (and badly acted) new characters. Also, the use of slapstick just becomes too much and isn't as clever as the filmmakers think that it is.
However, for fans of the film, this Blu-ray release presents very good picture and audio quality and a ton of extras.
