Poor performance
on January 31, 2016
Posted by: wmsbud
The Chef Collection dishwasher does not wash the dishes or silverware very well. The run cycle is extremely long and the dishes and silverware are never dry when we unload it. In addition, there is a cord and spring mounted to support the weight of the door when you open and lower it. One of the cords broke loose from the spring, the door came down on my leg and caused a seven to eight inch cut on my shin. To make things worse the dishwasher has only been used three or four times. My old dishwasher was very simple, the run cycle was approximately 40 minutes and it cleaned and dried the dishes every time, for sixteen years. It never needed any repairs in all that time. We only renewed it because we remodeled our kitchen. Extremely disappointed in this product.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very disappointing & is being exchanged...NOT DESIGNED TO DRY DISHES

Yes, this dishwasher is super quiet. That's where the good points end. THIS DISHWASHER IS NOT DESIGNED TO DRY DISHES! Crazy, right? It's correct, there's no heating element so the dishes are soaked after a cycle, even using rinse aid & the Dry+ button. I was sure this had to be incorrect, but it is designed that way. Had I been told by the sales associate, I never would have purchased it to begin w/. I like my dishes to end up dry, that's the beauty of a dishwasher in my opinion. I thought the top tray for silverware was clever, but it takes up too much space & I couldn't fit my dishes. My plates are too tall for the bottom rack, they're just average sized plates. The spinner that cleans can't spin, so my dishes aren't getting clean. The middle rack is adjustable so I thought moving it up was the solution. Wrong! Then my drinking glasses wouldn't fit. Again, normal sized glasses. Thank goodness the store is exchanging this for me. I love Samsung products, but this is a dud.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, does not dry dishes, 3rd tray takes up too much room, plates wouldn't fit
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

LOVE this dishwasher!

This is the best dishwasher we have ever had! Of course at its price, it better be the best. We've had it for a little over 2 years and it works just as well as day one with zero problems. It's very quiet and can only be heard if it is silent in the house (so not very often). The top rack is adjustable in height so you can wash taller items in the bottom. It has the waterwall to get the bottom clean and another spinning water bar to get the top clean. The flextray at the very top is perfect for cooking utensils and cutlery. You can wash just one half of the dishwasher too, just the right, just the left, or even just the top or just the bottom. It comes in handy when you only have half a load but need to get the dishes done. The timer at the front of the display is handy also. It'll add or subtract time as needed. I really love all the features of this dishwasher.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, features
Cons: expensive
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased this VERY EXPENSIVE dishwashing on 11/2/14 and today is 12/5/14. I just had to complete a "Service Request" as we are getting an LE code and the dishwasher has been out for 2 days. Pretty dissapointing considering how much we paid for this unit.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi BJaquino!
Thank you for reaching out to us. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience if your Samsung Dishwasher has an error code LE. The experience is not what we expect from our customers. Your feedback helps to understand where we can take steps to improve our product and service.
Error code LE means that the dishwasher's leak sensor detects moisture or the water reflector is blocked (Waterwall models only). When this code occurs, the dishwasher will turn itself on and will not turn off. You may refer to this link about "Samsung Dishwasher is Displaying an Error Code: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01002074/.

I: OPERATIONS MANUAL TERRIBLY WRITTEN. REQUIRE A ROCKET SCEINTIST TO UNDERSTAND.
2: DISH RACKS ARE TERRIBLY DESIGHNED,
a) Racks are not stable resulting in dishes leaning on eash other. Water is therefore restricted in getting between dish.
3: DISHES CANNOT BE STACKED AS SUGGESTED IN MANUAL.
b) Soup bowls lay on top of one another. Dinner plates cannot sit in allocated space because the plate supports are to short.
4: CULTERY RACK
c) For some people this may be a good idea but there are also others that would prefer more room. If you can I would use this item as an elective only
Pros: to early to tell
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The selves slide out smoothly. Everything looks high end. Most importantly is my dishes in silverware come out super clean. I would definitely recommend this dishwasher.
Bought and installed this unit on a Saturday and ran a cleaning cycle with no issues. Both my wife and I were really impressed at how quiet it was. Monday night, we loaded up and ran it over night. The next morning I noticed that the dishes inside were wet but still dirty, so I thought that maybe I had forgotten to put a detergent pack in. I did this and started the cycle again. That afternoon, I noticed that the detergent pack was gone but the dishes were in the exact same state that I left them in that morning. Frustrated now, I reset the unit and run another cycle. Upon finishing, 3 cycles later my dishes are still filthy.
I am an engineer who has years of experience in manufacturing, so I understand that defective products occasionally make it to the end user. But after reading over 50% of this unit's reviews calling it out as complete garbage, I am taking it back to the store and buying something else. Disappointing because it was literally the most expensive unit available, I just assumed it was for a reason.
Pros: quiet
Cons: doesn't actually work
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Experiencing Leaking, Error Code and Streaking within First Month of Use
on February 1, 2015

from Philadelphia, PA, USA
My beautiful Chefs Collection Dishwasher was installed in November 2014. The unit has the look and feel I desire in a dishwasher. Solid with Clean Lines.
Unfortunately, it has leaked onto my hardwood floors 3 times. On the 1st leak the unit displayed an LE error code. The leak appears to be coming from the the top of the unit near the handle. After the first leak, I called to have the unit serviced. A certified repair person promptly came to my home and tested the unit. It appeared to work fine during the repair call.
I used the unit again and it worked fine the same day. The following day , the unit leaked again from the same location near the handle. This instance the error code did not appear.
I tried the unit another time , and, again it leaked from the top of the unit. I cannot trust the unit to run unless I am watching it. The normal cycle takes 2 hours and 38 minutes so this unit is not working for me.
Additionally, each time I have used the dishwasher, the dishes have come out streaked even when using a rinse agent.
I am really disappointed because I really like the unit. It did not meet my expectations to basically have clean dishes and not ruin my hardwood floors. Not asking for too much.
I have a Samsung 55 inch smart tv (4 years old), Samsung refrigerator (7 years old) and Samsung washer and dryer (4 years old) and have had no problems with any of them which influenced my decision to go with the Samsung Chefs Collection dishwasher.
Pros: nice design, solid construction
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
