The Exorcist is my favorite movie of all time, so not giving it the best rating for any reason is not easy for me to do. The movie itself is still excellent, so my only dissatisfaction is with the overall quality of the Blu-ray version. I could not wait to own the Blu-ray version and would have bought it no matter what, but the quality is not up to par as compared to contemporary DVD releases. There is a slight graininess to everything which, I assume, is due to the sharpening of the film during the Blu-ray process. But I cannot say don't buy it. The movie is fantastic, and the Blu-ray version is still worth owning regardless of the flaw. I stand firm on recommending it!
What's great about it: Perfect movie to own, best horror film of all time!
What's not so great: Minimal graininess in Blu-ray version
I would recommend this to a friend!

Turn off the lights when you see this movie. This movie was based on a true story on a boy who really had an exorcism.And now you can see all the horror, all the pain, and all the screams of terror he went though.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm not certain what the additional footage was meant to add to this movie. It's laughable to consider it "shocking". If it weren't for the special features trailers that detailed the previously unseen footage, I would have missed them.
Still a good moview, but the shocking-never-before-seen-version: yawn.
What's great about it: It's always been a pretty good movie, even without the "shocking new version".
What's not so great: The added scenes would be undetectable if they weren't broadcast all over the package and in the included trailers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great movie, finally on blu-ray. Both Extended Directors Cut and Thetarical versions are here. But I personally recommend the directors cut.
