Dishwasher Disappointment
on February 15, 2016
Posted by: Yeaya

We bought our dishwasher in December. We have already had to have a service call. The dishwasher does not clean or dry the dishes. Water stands in the bottom after it cycles. The service tech told us food particles were clogging the spray arm and not cleaning. He told us to make sure to rinse all the food off before we loaded them into the washer. If I am going to have to clean the dishes before I put them in the dishwasher, I really don't need one?!? I literally have to take a toothpick and clean each of the holes in the spray arm each time I use this appliance. The dishwasher I replaced was a Whirlpool dishwasher we purchased in 1999. It worked great-wish I had it back.

Does not dry the dishes

This dishwasher does not dry the dishes on the dry cycle and the interior stays very wet inside. I can't wash the dishes at night or when I leave the house because I feel it is unsanitary for the dishes to sit in an enclosed moisture filled environment!

Tray is flimsy

The lower tray in which you load dishes is flimsy and comes off it's rails about half the time I push it in. This can be challenging to deal with when you have the entire tray full of dishes and stuck half way into the dishwasher.

Clean dishes, very quiet!

The installation is a little more difficult than cheaper dishwashers because the drain, water and electricity locations are more specific. But I put mine in about 6 weeks ago and I'm very happy with the performance and features for the price.

Does not dry plastic. I've learned to live with that but worse is it's spreading food particles all over the dishes. I am good about rinsing but if one plate has any food at all on it, that food will be spread out all over all of the dishes. I have had to run it several times for one load and the cycles are well over an hour long.

Hey Chrisbattags, we do apologize for the difficulties your dishwasher may be causing you at this current time. We do suggest to make sure the water temperature to the appliance is set between 120*-140*F. This is the minimum temperature range that the water supply must reach in order for the detergent to dissolve completely. Also, make sure the filter trap at the bottom of the unit is free of debris. You may also want to clean the unit by running a hot water/dry cycle with no dishes inside, and throw in 2 cups of white vinegar in the unit. This cleans the sprayer arms, and the unit and also deodorizes the unit. If you are still seeing film and food particles on the dishes after checking your water supply, and cleaning the unit, please try changing detergent's to a gel or liquid detergent. Powder tends to build up and corrode parts of the unit. Hope this helps! Thank you, Jennifer
