Using too much detergent in softened water causes etching and typically cannot be reversed. Try reducing the amount of detergent based on your water hardness-one teaspoon per three grains of hardness.
We recommend checking that your water heater is set at 120°F (49°C) to get proper water temperature inside the dishwasher. Also check the incoming water temperature to be sure it is not less than 120°F (49°C) at the sink closest to the dishwasher.
You may want to double check the way you are loading your dishes; avoid nesting items. Water can accumulate when the items are too close together. Cups, glasses, and bowls with a concave (recessed) bottom will collect water. Plastic items may need to be towel dried. This is because plastic does not retain heat, resulting in poor water evaporation from the item. This is common in all dishwashers. When the upper rack is pulled out first residual water left in the spray arm can drip down on the dishes. Pull out the lower rack first.
